Yup, I've just confirmed this with our techs, they say the K4510Z is not supported, I didnt realise it was an issue with other router brands as well.

Yeah. something about the modem and how it works is quite different to most other modems. I have tried hard to get this to work since it is quite fast (28mbps???), but no such luck. I use a old K3715 (7.2mbps) in my Intellinet (for travel) and a E372 (42.2mbps) in my Asus (at home). The K4510-z travels with me to use in my laptop.

I have been trying to get a Dovado Pro, but they don't seem to be generally available yet.

But I can confirm that Dovado routers are great with LTE modems, my Dovado Tiny works with my E392, E398, and E3276.

No, I did test it, but it is too slow.

I have forced my LTE modem to 3G, that works 3x faster than LTE in my area.

But I may try the LTE again sometime, maybe they have fixed something.

Oh no. I was about to buy an E398 and pop in my vc prepaid sim. Guess that idea is gone.
 
Hi Kernel.

Could I ask you to mail me the firmware version 110617 as well please. Im sitting with the same problem. TL-MR3020 with a K4510-z modem witch keep on disconnecting as soon as it connects. Want to try this firmware.

Been there... Done that... Didn't work. The K4510-Z doesn't play well with 3G routers. I don't think you'll be successful, but if you get it to work let us know.

I bought one of these yesterday, so far it's working perfectly, and it's extremely easy to configure.

Hi Sam/Team Dovado ;), a question for you. A client of mine went LTE with the Pro and an Alcatel L100V modem and, on that side of things, it works well enough. The fun starts when we started looking around for the failover capability mentioned in p6 of current reference manual (7.0.0). The Internet Connection page shows only this, which seems to be an either/or proposition and in any case will be set to USB modem as the default.

As far as WAN config, they have an existing iBurst modem that we had planned on using as the failover for when, for example, the LTE connection runs out of capacity for the month and they need a connection until it can be topped up. The problem here is that PPPoE seems not to be a supported connection method, which is required for iBurst. So, please advise what our options are at this stage, thank you.

Thank you for your questions!

1) The selection of primary Internet interface is done on that page, yes. However, for the fail-over to work, you must configure it accordingly in the Connection Tracker: https://www.dropbox.com/s/r5u5c4efdzemczo/CT failover.png

2) PPPoE is not available in our routers, as you pointed out. We had however have support for iBurst USB modems directly a few years ago in the DOVADO UMR, but this product is no longer available. iBurst alike was not something we saw too much a future in, so we decided to shift all of our attention on 4G/LTE and 3G/UMTS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDs8waZYftI

We will with high likelihood add support for PPPoE, but I cannot provide a time-plan on that. Very few countries still use this, and even less use it for the purpose of mobile broadband. It is mostly used for fixed broadband. :-)
