If preregistration means submitting my email to the site last month, then I was preregistered. That would explain why I also got the app immediately.

Immediate app usage is only granted to those people who registered on bbm.com. For everyone else, they have to take a number.

App does not exist in this store(4002)

According to this page:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bbm the app is incompatible with my device. Oh well, I wanted to see if it works. Most people I know use Whatsapp or WeChat, so it's not like I have lost touch with anyone by not being able to use this app.

Maybe Blackberry will upgrade the app to a paid version soon, then they can try and make some cash to save the failing company. Will it work? Probably not.

It won't be in the Play Store for around 3 days, they are trying to ease the load. So they are giving it to Samsung phone users (through Samsung store) and selected iPhone users first

Tells me that this app is incompatible with all of my devices. That would be a Note 2, a Note tablet, an S3, and a Galaxy Tab 2.

It works this side as well, a bit heavy on the eyes though. Surprisingly people have moved to android and BBM seems like a foreign language. The interface is also a bit sluggish.... Will stick to whatsapp for now thanks.
