I can say that i am achieving those speeds. CONSISTENTLY.
Its about their pathetic pricing coming into effect from 1 May.
Who are they Fooling ?
It's about their 14.4 mbps speed which does not exist.
Who are they fooling ? How many users really achieve this promised speed.
It's about their pathetic excuses for not lowering call rates.
Even VodaCom 2 VodaCom is unrealisticly high for the prepaid users.

From home I can hit 3.6 fairly consistently. At work it's more like 1.8. Anything faster is still a dream.
Yes well, thats what happens when Vodacom employees gets special access to the "look at me im special" APN! lol hehehehe. GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!!!
Suggestion:
Provide clients with uncapped 3G at say R389/month and limit the download speed to say 1.8Mbps and the upload to say 512kbps. I can live with that. Anybody else?
I don't think that this would be a good idea. Their network would grind to a halt. I would like to see R100 a gig or something in that region...

Like I said, we as the clients are willing to negotiate and yes I could also live with about R100/gig. That would reduce my bill by almost 50%. But then again, so will it with Vodacom, therefore the delay in price decreases.
We need to come up with an idea to force them. Any suggestions?
Short of ICASA and government getting involved I don't know if there is much that we can do. I applied for a Telkom line and am moving over to ADSL. I think the best way to get them to take notice is to vote with your feet. Unfortunately not everyone has choice though![]()
I agree, I am sick and tired of my 2GB per month because paying R1000 for 5GB is just too much!
Come on Vodacom drop prices already, otherwise you are going to loose customers!
I think that it is fair and will keep their towers from dying with the burden of p2p etc. Maybe they could have bundles like the following: R100 for 1 gig, R189 for 2, R379 for 3 etc so that the price per gig gets cheaper the more you buy.
If they kept bundles less that 2GB the same and had a better pricing model for above 2GB that would suite Vodacom and the customers however they are not budging. If I could pay say R689 for 5GB and R989 for 10GB, (a) Customers will be happy and (b) Vodacom actually makes more revenue because at the moment, I am only paying R389 for 2GB and rationing my bandwidth. But noooooo, they have blinkers on.
At the current service levels in Nelspruit, even R100 per Gig is way too much.
Seriously I think some idiot in some office is playing musical towers, switching them on and off at random intervals.
But yes, R100 or under is definitely a step worth taking. THAT is the kind of rate-cut I am expecting to see.
Oh, and btw Vodacom... I have, just in this last 2 weeks alone, cost you 32 customers (33 possibly coz that one guy left without saying anything).
Oh did I fail to mention that a LOT of people actually pay me for advice on their IT-related queries?
Of course I could also have advised those 4 companies that a Vodacom Private Corporate APN would have best served their needs... too bad!
Oh and how I wish this was merely a personal vendetta against you... how I wish indeed. Fact is, when it comes right down to it, you are too incompetent and expensive.
Me recommending you at all, at this point in time, would be a disservice to any of my customers.
Gbye!
