Anybody else seeing BS drops in speed? My sync speed dropped from 30Mbps to 2Mbps (attainable from 34Mbps to 13Mbps). According to CW this is related to openserve maintenance. Anybody else with the same issue?

Yes, I am affected too. Seeing 1MB speeds on my 10MB Uncapped account. No idea what's going on.

I'm not being affected by this upgrade. And I was streaming a kids show while running those tests.

4Mb/s Home Premium Uncapped here. Starts out at 490KB/s for about 20 seconds, which is my normal maximum speed, then it goes down to 275-300KB/s from there for the rest of the download.

Either we're being throttled, or CW capacity is under constraint and we're being shaped. The only reason this would be strange, is that in 18 months I've only experienced this once before.

None of those reasons.... definitely an issue with OS moving many subs onto a 2Mbps profile. Already escalated to highest level by the banned mybb member.

:crylaugh:

Anyway, just got this from live chat - not sure how accurate:

Ok I think its part of Telkoms/openserver upgrade that is taking place

Openserver are currently upgrading their systems and has caused line to sync at 2mb/s the line should be back to normal within 24 hours

wtf, that's worrying. If this they tell me that I can only sync @ 13Mbps I'm going to be p!ssed

If it helps, mine is fluctuating every few seconds in a 0.1 Mb/s range. I think rather wait til the Openserve upgrades are finished (if there is any truth to it...).

I did notice a drop in internet performance last night, but I didn't connect it with the SMS that Telkom sent out at the same time:

Your DSL service 012xxxxxxx is ready for migration to another service provider and will become temporarily unavailable after 5 days pending the migration. Please contact your new service provider urgently to conclude the migration

Now that I saw you guys complain too, I just tested my speed to put a number to it... Yep, 2Mbps. Well done, Telkom.

I received the same SMS and my speed is still only 2MB. Is there any action required from us in response to that SMS and when will we have full speed again?

Thanks

Contact support on live chat rather, just to be safe. CrystalWeb do not reply here at all any more.

I contacted Crystal Web yesterday about the SMS, but didn't realise that my speed had degraded then. They had a copy/paste message ready, which says:

Thank you for getting in touch with us. Openserver are currently upgrading their systems so these were sent out automatically. Please do not worry, your line is still migrated to us and you can ignore the sms.

Does this impact every Openserve line, or a specific region? Seems like just Crystal Web?
