Sorted, it seems the problem was indeed caused by the changeover from my old capped profile to the new one. Great support guys, thanks for helping me out so quick :)

Pleasure. And I'm sorry that mail was sent out unduly. We really try to keep those to a minimum but we obviously have some customers who don't pay on the 1st, and some who haven't paid at all who after the penalties are imposed are handed over, and this is necessary on our side as a business. I personally despise the sending of these mails but it's just necessary, and there are occasional slips through the cracks on our side.

Fortunately one of the pivotal aspects of the portal deployment and new systems is the automated reconciliation aspect even for manual payments...

So the problems continue, as ssoon as I switch to my Axxess account all the lag is gone, yet when I'm playing on the same server with crystalweb I lag really badly...And yes I have contacted support multiple times and it happens almost everyday some days it is good but most its not...I also transferred my line hoping you could fix it but still no resolution in sight :/ at this rate I might leave because this only started when downgraded to supposedly the second best account...

To date yours is the only complaint about this specific game. Moreover it's a local server but routing nationally, and attaining around 60ms according to your reports to us. 60ms to the specific gaming server from your routing location is about the same as what we see when testing on our side and less than on other backbones, so really not sure what else to say. You keep asking "why do I get x when switching to another ISP" and I must say, I cannot answer for another ISP I'm afraid. I don't even know if they're routing you to the same servers. In our tests your latency is perfectly normal and 60ms routing nationally to this specific server is to be expected. It's not in our experience "really bad lag" nor a problem that needs fixing...

EDIT: to add to this, I'm monitoring the gaming servers right now (i.e. the servers/routers on our network that manage the interconnects to all gaming servers we peer with in SA or where the game server sits on the IS network itself - this means I'm monitoring the data for the response times up until the point it moves off our network and on to the peer's network or to the game server directly). The biggest ping spike in 10min is 60ms on the dot but due to me refreshing a page of gifs that pushed full speed on my connection and there's no QoS to manage that on my home network at the moment. Other than that one instance all other spikes are around 5ms and in all likelihood as a result of normal DSL latency spikes. That routing infrastructure is in no way under any pressure and it moves through our pipes on your account completely unaffected. It's possible Mweb may have the routing wrong from this interconnect - we can ask them perhaps, but this is the only isolated report of a supposed issue, and to be honest it doesn't appear to be an issue but rather just normal limitations of latency due to it moving nationally off our network to the gaming server destination...

Anybody having connection issues?

What connection issues? As in can't authenticate? Speeds slower than expected?

If you PM me some details I can check for you.

But in terms of the network it's running like a dream performance-wise and in all tests and data I have my side...

Can't connect to the Internet.
I can't get to my router atm, but looks like the problem is only via the WiFi, so must be at home.

Thank you though. You are fast on the draw.
:)

6 months down the line and this is the story of my exchange...

Can't wait for my fibre!

Shaun, don't you have connections at Telkom? help me fix this

The packet loss to the router is the firewall with ping plotter. If the packet loss was 94% from the router the balance would look a lot worse. Even when my average is low 20ms hop 1 has 95% + loss.

Have you tried just disconnecting the firewall entirely and trying with the modem on its own to rule out an issue there?

Official Crystal Web ADSL performance feedback thread Part 3...

Have you tried just disconnecting the firewall entirely and trying with the modem on its own to rule out an issue there?

Tried 3 different routers, same each time.

I show loss from hop 1 even when the line is flying.

The SS above is a problem with the exchange. Same issued every night between 7:30 - 10:00.

And disconnecting the firewall? Because what you're seeing there is not normal and doesn't look like exchange congestion either. Honestly looks like an issue in your lan or the machine running the tests...

Still think you may have an issue locally there. Would say remove everything, get back to basics, and see if the results are replicated. If so, move on and it's easy to blame the next hop. But right now you can't actually test anything before the exchange, so not yet fair to blame the exchange...

So as I mentioned my problems with ping seems they disappear at night, That is the ping goes down to a stable 33-34ms yet anytime during the day I am getting around 60-70ms ping, now if that isn't an issue than what is?
