Depends where. In SA I tip 15%, US at least 20% with their pathetic minimum wage laws, and where I live you don’t tip for anything.
 
I recently dined at a high end US restaurant. They automatically added the 20% service charge, and then also automatically added a 4% “employee health benefits” charge. Tip was $125 at the end. I’ve never seen the 4% charge anywhere else before, which makes for a 24% automatic tip in total.

It also seems to be an incorrect mechanism - so the more customers, and the more they pay, the better their healthcare is? On a down month, don’t they get healthcare? It should be part of their base, because it’s fixed.
 
Fun fact, at the Ultra JHB music festival a couple months back I went to one of those trailers selling takeaway pizza.
After ordering I was asked if I wanted to tip, I figured why not - tipped 20% and paid.

"Thanks" the guy said, as he grabbed my pizza from a stack of pizza boxes that were done probably 20 minutes ago and handed me cold pizza...
This is what I get for being nice.

i dont understand coffee shops and few places where its take away and you tip

if there is a food market or something then i udnerstand you tip the cleaners

but not take away ..furk that
