No Data connection but full signal

Last night I played with a few sites including facbook and mybroadband using my 8ta data sim and things flew.

Decided to stick my Cell C sim into the router and see if there was any speed increase - dead slow. Took several minutes to load mybroadband, each time it said the website could not be found I had to refresh. Facebook never loaded even after at least 30 F5's.....

Sane issue here but in Johannesburg. No throughput waited over 10minutes for this site to load with F5/refresh every 30 seconds

10 min after I posted I phoned 084-155-5555 and a lady confirmed that it was network congestion and CellC engineers were working on it.:wtf: Now, what to do,what to do?!?!? Is Cell C a victim of their own "success"(albeit with no numbers to back this up) or simply their network was never up to scratch to begin with? Almost sold a kidney to buy their Giga 200:D but at this rate...HELL NO!!! Pity they are the cheapest and I will simply toddle along with their small pre-paid data 50MB(R7.50)-300MB(R45.00) recharges to feed my smartphone in the mean time.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step towards recovery, so hopefully we're moving forward.

Problem getting worse in Pretoria. Had this issue since the end of January when I joined Cell C.

Seems like a ton of people joined Cell C in December / January. I signed two 1 year Giga20 contracts in December and had a great experience during the holiday time, which dropped to nothing during January. My house still has a good signal and throughput, but I'm on the edge of Pretoria. Driving to work has patches where absolutely nothing happens.

Things are improving slowly but during the night sites take a little longer to load. Like they always say patience is virtue. Fortunate for me going back to 8ta next week but want to use the last gigs I have left on 3Gig simcard I bought last year as a backup in case anything were to go wrong with my current provider but happy to report 8ta is stable, reliable.. I seriously hope CELL C can improve their network asap*data&voice*. Hopefully there new equipment will be arriving soon.

Either it connects with 5mbp/s or I have full signal and no throughput, it changes every two minutes. Switching to flight mode and back seems to help the connection come alive again when the data stops flowing

In my case I found that disabling and enabling packet mode also do help. Or shutting down/restarting your phone. Weird.

Talking about laptop? Using dial-up modem connection or NSDIS adapter?

I smell a rat, I smell a rat, I smell a rat.
Now we'll never know the TRUTH.
9 weeks of Bulls**t & now more Bulls**t from your allies.

Whats going on??
I'm getting very suspicious here.

I signed a Giga20 contract at the end of January. I had problems since day 1. When visiting relatives in Dornpoot I had great speeds but when I returned home, nothing again. I have logged a complaint, got reference number but after a few weeks of still having the problem, I sent the reference number to the Cell C rep on this forum, still nothing after more than 2 months. Edge seemed to work up until recently when it also became unreliable.

I feel your frustration because i'm in a similar situation. But the reality is, No ones listening.
Cell C & now its strongest allies give 2 f**ks what we have to say. Thats the way i can see it.

If they did care we wouldn't be having this discussion. Luckily both the contracts I signed is only for 12 months so I only have a few months left of this. I feel sorry for the people who signed 24 month contracts though.

Ironic that, on this forum, Cell C is still advertising a product they simply cannot deliver. You get the device and services for a great price but you simply cannot use it.

I know a lot of people who unfortunately are locked into those 24 month contracts & most of them are my friends. I know how hurt they are.
Its more like daylight robbery if u ask me, yet CellC seem so unmoved by all of this.

It seems that everybody jumps on this thread blaming Cell C, also those who have evident configuration problems and when asking a question which might solve particular problem, they don't reply:
