Formatted my laptop, trying to download some drivers, nice 80 kB/s :(

If possible try multi-thread the download. I use jdownloader for http links. I found if I set it to use 10 connections I'm able to max out my line.

Anyone tried P2P today? How is it working for you? It's working at half my line speed atm.

HTTP only working at 12KB/s

Lets see what happens in Feb.
Have to fall back on capped package backup until then I'm afraid. 3.4 megs http on a 10 meg line (routing/packet loss at exchange)...:crying:

Playing with the idea of buying a quick 20/30gbs to get me through the month.

So the main problem with the current CW accounts seems to be packet loss.

After disabling Port Scan and DoS Protection on my router, I still get serious packet loss with CW. I get zero packet loss with Vox, and a total of just 1 packet lost with AH.

I realise this is quibbling over the minutia, but I'm wondering how CW capped accounts are rate limited?

On any other ISP, if I get an NNTP download going with something like 30 connections, my line maxes out at 2.2MB/sec.

On CW, the ceiling appears to be a hard 2.0MB/sec - I've never seen it go above. Only thing I can think of is that other ISPs have no rate limit on accounts, while CW have separate accounts for 20mbps, 40mbps, etc. Is it something like that?

Know it is too late to cancel but can I still downgrade to a lower package?

Wait I thought you don't have to cancel since there is no system of CC payments etc basically a pay before 30 jan else cancelled? I joined a week ago - for gaming reasons and without any sort of proof that it'll be much better on the new system... I'm hardly inclined to pay for next month...

Cancel by the 19th or you are locked into next month.

I understand the frustration of packet loss, which is why we are in the process of fundamental changes which begin next week.

This must be completed before the 19th of each month as well, as we incur costs thereafter based on the finalised customer base. This is also why a date exists for cancellations - it's not punitive - it's a real operational requirement.
