No I am not going to read 372 pages ;), but how is sftp after hours on the capped accounts?

Should be really decent - haven't had any reports of slow speeds yet on SSH in these hours.
 
I was under the assumption that CWs business accounts were exactly that, business accounts where there are severe restrictions on nntp and p2p. If you want P2P then get off their business account and onto a normal account with a custom profile.

Correct. We don't like to muddy the waters between business and consumer orientated accounts. It creates numerous hassles planning capacity moving forward. Business accounts are designed for business use on business protocols with maximum priority during business hours.
 
For clarity, is the free capped data from midnight to 6am like it says on your website, or to 7am like I was informed in chat?

Sounds like the agent made an error there. The free midnight data applies from midnight to 6am.

Got the emails, thank you for extending those of us on the summer promo packages [to decide going forward this month] :). Thank heavens the usage portal [temp] is working, was wondering how much i did :o and not much did i do :p.

I do hope you guys reconsider doing 12am - 7am so as to not confuse as the agent did above. It will make choosing somewhat easier when comparing with competing iSPs unless you can give me a single sentence reason why the 12am - 6am is better :whistle:.

It's a pleasure, and that's partly the reason for the delayed mail going out, as it was pivotal to get the temp portal working first so you guys could make an informed call. :)

Industry standard, and usage begins to pick up from that time on business accounts. As usual though, we're always open to making changes that are mutually beneficial so we'll keep an eye out on this.
 
Also got the emails, nice to be able to check my usage at last. Still think you need a capped offering around the R180/mth mark for, say, 60GB + 140GB though.

That's also in the plans. Each product is quite a process to plan and manage, as it entails ensuring that all reporting is 100% to ensure sufficient network capacity at all times, and that it ties in with our overall strategies. I think a bridge product may be viable, and we'll certainly look at introducing something similar in the future.

Yes, but we're not really at liberty to disclose these sorts of things to be honest. Needless to say, they are beneficial to all ADSL customers in South Africa at the end of the day. :)

I somehow doubt that I'm going to be seeing any improvement in my line stats after these upgrades. My guess is that they are upgrading all exchanges to support VDSL, but that is not going to improve my line quality in order for me to achieve anything higher than 4mb.

In fact, since I got back from honeymoon, my line degraded even more and now I cannot even sync at 4mb anymore like I used to, they had to downgrade me to 3mb.

It is another can of worms for me, I do a lot of remote support after hours while girlfriend is streaming and some p2p also in the mix. Any suggestion for a usage profile like mine ?

If p2p can be scheduled for midnight then uncapped is the way to go. Alternatively the standard capped should be fine as well for this but perhaps its best to see how it performs and then let us know, as it's difficult with such a brad description to say for sure which specific account is best.
