You're not alone. I've got the guys from Unotelly troubleshooting my problems as well...
 
Bleh wonder how long it will take to get my vdsl line authenticated on Telkom side. Sheesh two days and only 3g so far.

I need to confirm whether Shaun was asked for comment but the lack of CW in the table - and for that matter the logo thingy - makes it most probable that the Staff Writer didn't feature Crystal Web in the list of ISPs.

Probably best to ask RPM or any MyBB journalist. Also possibly an administrative glitch and the comment is based on firms that are partnering with MyBB for content - i.e. have a MyBB press office. Crystal Web hasn't got a press office with any of the media houses yet - mostly because we wish to be equitable in our treatment of media houses (and therefore need to grow into being able to virtual press office with multiple providers).

On the other hand I received a RfC email from ITWeb that was comprehensively responded to and quoted in their article. Hell if MyBB wanted to make a story there is more than enough comment on MyBB itself on IPC from CW members. So ja to say I am disappointed in MyBroadband and pretty much all of the staff of MyBB is probably an understatement - mostly because it is fundamentally unfair to our customers.

As of about five minutes ago here as well, and not just YouTube. Speed test shows about 40% of normal throughput. About to shuffle off to the land of Nod, so not particularly fazed, but definitely a more general issue than a random congested exchange.

in case its missed the "exchange congestion" comment is a joke

I am in Jbay

we are though actively doing some things in the Cape right now. Getting more IPC ASAP and addressing some anomalies

Haven't checked in on the thread in a while; haven't needed to. I'm not in Jbay though, but in Jo'burg, and something be wrong with my intertubes.

Big proponent of telecommuting - although the latest from the Minister of the silly ministry (posts telecoms ...) is on record as agreeing with me :)

What is the normal turn around time for this. As my line syncs fine but it's only isp accounts that sync.

yours is already past "normal turn around time" and is at "Paul shouting at XYZ time" :(

and trust me right now that is loud shouting - not in a good mood right now
 
@Paul Hjul , Thanks a ton for being transparent on all the IPC plans and status .

I've had a question burning for a while though, not directed at CW , but you guys are being honest and open , is it possible for an ISP to be better or worse dependent on the location ? Provided they are both in JHB with no exchange congestion etc .

not so much where the ISP is located as much as where certain equipment is
and there are odd variables - two different customers in the same exchange can be on different hardware; no exchange congestion but the one piece is a little ricketty. There is introduced latency at that initial link and so the one customers packets are slower out the gate which when it hits a shaper or load balancer or any sort of router is treated a little differently.
