They are on par with the other popular fibre ISPs.

Sticking with them cos they are 1 of the cheapest.

It was very simple to sign up & their customer portal/app is user friendly.

I have been an Afrihost client since 2014 - back then I was one of their biggest advocates. Solid customer service and support. I took a break from their services for a year or two and when I came back - I have been left feeling rather underwhelmed and frustrated. Inconsistent network stability and TERRIBLE customer service (specifically after hours support) has me questioning the value-for-money preposition.

I like Afrihost. Have been with them for years. Have had a few niggles, especially when using some of their partner/third-party providers, but overall I am very happy. Service is mostly prompt and always courteous.

What I need most is for a fibre provider to install in our area, so that I can use Afrihost as my fibre ISP.

Support is non-existent. I dont care how low the latency is all we do is stream and sometimes game. When the line goes down just answer the phone or do not call back multiple times more than 24 hours later just for each agent to have a different diagnosis.

Here's my latest fight with Afrihost...

Your feedback is much appreciated Camikaze!

I placed a order with them. To verify my debit order that payed R1 into my Absa account and told me to send them the code on my statement. Absa nor I could find this code on the statement.
However the router NEVER EVER ARRIVED nor could Afrihost say why the router did not even leave the warehouse. Next's Afrihost send me the below letter telling me that they cannot migrate my line, because I'm still with Vox.

Hi

Hope you are well :)

We have tried to place your fibre order with Vumatel.

However, they have advised us that you have an existing order on their records, possibly through another ISP, or you already have an existing installation.

Kindly follow these steps in order for us to successfully complete your order:

- Cancel any existing order with all other ISP’s if you did sign-up with them
- If you already have an existing installation in the premise, please let us know so we can change the order to a Migrate-in service instead
- Alternatively, if you no longer want to use Afrihost as your ISP, kindly cancel the pending order from your Clientzone: https://clientzone.afrihost.com/en/

Kind regards:)
Wiseman @ Afrihost Fibre Ops | Blazing-fast Broadband

Today Afrihost kindly deducts R249 for delivery of a router I have never ever received.
So, my ratings of Afrihost is ZERO

My only issue with Afrihost. I wanted to sign up to their new mobile offers, but typed a 9 instead of a 0 on the last digit. I have logged a few calls. They keep sending me mails to activate the service with the wrong number and no one there knows how to delete the wrong request.

Hi jacosmit, I am sorry you've had a bad experience signing up for mobile packages with us. Please can you DM us with your details so we can look into what's going on. Thanks.

Never again.
I am very sorry that we disappointed you, jouda. That's on us, for letting you down.

Hi jouda, I am sorry you don't have coverage. Have you expressed interest in your area especially with your fibre provider locally?

Been with Afrihost for 12+yrs and still my ISP of choice. When something goes wrong it gets sorted. Sure it's not perfect but the best in terms of comms and solutions.

Hi Cloudia, thanks so much for the positive feedback! We appreciate it so much.

I find them to be pretty reliable in the small things. So when a particular backhaul or something fails, they are pretty good at switching to a backup without you noticing the immediate effect.
That said with the WACS and SAT3 cable break, they did take a while to properly respond, but bonus points for actually making arrangements to have working internet.

I am sorry we were delayed in that regard, VegOtter. We do try our best to be on top of things.
