TRENDnet = no good

Seems like some sales rep or importer got sniff of this rant and now they are desperately trying to save face. Using three different profiles with posts that follows more or less the same MO (notice the subject fields are actually filed in on those pro-TrendNET posts). Busted! ;)

Allow me to be factual about this.
1) It is clear that I have given TrendNET more than a fair chance and each time they disappointed me.
2) Each time I found cheaper and better solutions from other hardware manufacturers.
3) I have tried wireless equipment from various makes (Asus, Billion, D-Link, IPtime, SMC, Linksys, Zioncomm) and none of them failed me like TrendNET.
4) My TEW-651BR cost R289 and was hardware version v1.0R. I loaded the latest firmware V1.01.22 Release Date: July 29, 2010 and still the pre shared key could not have $ in it. I would hazard a guess and say this bug is present in the majority of TrendNET firmwares so getting a V2.0R or V2.1R would solve nothing.
5) I got a full refund for the TEW-651BR, saved R30 and bought an IPtime router instead for R259. It looks better, has a better aerial (5dbi), works with any pre shared key, has wireless AP mode, Bridge Mode, Auto Firmware update and many more features than the TrendNET.

So in conclusion allow me to reiterate - TrendNET is crap.

Its quite a shame to read that consumers are frustrated at the TRENDnet products, all we can do is say Thank you for the feedback, no matter if it's negative, so that we could try and resolve the issue/s at hand, and move forward.

@Rouxenator, I do apologise that you are frustrated with the product, I am aware of the $ issue on the TEW 651BR, I have moaned to TRENDnet about this as I had a client that had the same issue, they promised that they would try and resolve it.

BTW, I am the Product Manager, as well as do the support for TRENDnet for the Importers in South Africa

I was thinking of getting the Trendnet 150Mbps Mobile Wireless N Router - TEW-655BR3G (Version v1.0R) for my Neotel Huawei EC168C. I've had no confirmation that it would in fact work, so yes I will give it a miss.

Hi Rph72, I know that the TEW 655BR3G supports the Huawei EC168, but I'm not sure on the "Huawei EC168C". Please give me some time to find out from Huawei and TRENDnet if there are differences between the two and if they are compatible, dont want to say yes and then it doesnt work, then TRENDnet is even more frowned upon

Obviously you can't discuss actual company financials in either private or in public.

BUT


would you be able to give us an indication of how many trendnet units(lump all together) you guys sell in month.


need not be accurate. just an indication to see how popular your products are ( in that range not other makes)
 
For that you need to speak to the General Manager regarding that Sir, Unfortunately while trying to assist and defend our brand, Suggs, was banned.

You will need to PM him for that please as I do not have access to history on the system

Geesh sounds like hate speach. And since when does personal preference make you right Venomous? Just because you dislike a product doesnt make you right. Have you ever factored in human error? Trendnet is not bad. And with ANY product there is always going to be a few bad mishaps. And since this is a thread on how "bad" trendnet is there is going to be people agreeing with you. But that said I am sure there are problems with Trendnet but are they or are they not trying to fix and help and all you can do is complain and threaten to RAS? LOL AT YOU!

hmm, i wonder what got him banned... the reason why I called you a clone is that there's suddenly a few(more than 2) new logins trying to protect the same brand

Firstly read the whole thread....

There are multiple new posters defending the same brand. People were already saying clone...
All I did was ask questions.

I never said I would RAS for helping. I did say I would RAS for advertising. There's a difference.

I am entitled to ask questions to get clarification.
He/She is entitled to help their customers resolve the problems originating from their brand...
