Weight Loss Thread 2014

I probably should get an electric scale.

Initial reading: 100KG
Last night: 95KG
Today:98KG

At least the jogging is going better :D

Digital scale helps as they are typically accurate to 200g.

Also make sure to weigh in in the morning after coffee, breakfast & SSS to get the same baseline.

77.8 this morning.

Okay, how the hell is this even possible?

The scale, as far as I know, is electronic and accurate....

your body weight can fluctuate up to 2 kg's on a daily basis

Best to weigh in once a week.

if you want to track your progress then this^ or else take your daily weight and average it out over a 7 day period

That cannot surely be more accurate than charting it once a day on a graph?

It's not, since you can compare the data over week by week as well, but mass can fluctuate quite heavily day to day. So keep note of your day to day, but use the stats on a week to week basis maybe.

I think the thing that is astonishing me is the fact that the drop is pretty consistent:

Also, I am at weights I haven't seen in over a decade, hehe.

No doubt it's variable, but the decline in general is absolutely amazing!

Water, water, water. (It does not matter that you are drinking a lot, you store 4 grams of water for every gram of carbohydrate, or something like that). The daily drops will probably slow down soon.

Daily tracking is fun, but it will drive you nuts in the end. As you progress you will probably notice your weight will stay stable for a while and then bang, you lose a lot, then things go quiet for a while. Apparently fat cells fill up with water, and then when they purge you win the lottery number wise.

Yeah, I know that, but without the positive reinforcement of the initial weight drop, I doubt I'd be doing this in the first place.

When my body is firmly into ketosis, and things are cemented, weight will become a moot point, as I'd like to work on building some muscle and getting fitter in general.

You can weigh yourself everyday but then you have to do it consistantly.

Have the same size breakfast each morning, the same number of coffees/teas. Weigh in after a SSS. And the same time.

Four years ago I did it and saw a daily 200-300 gram drop.

When I start I lose the most the first week. I think it has to do with daily alcohol drinking and water retension and body bloat. Typically the first week would be 2-3 kg in my case and then settle to 1.5 or so a week. My diet means no alcohol.

No alcohol either, my side, since the 2nd (aside from one Windhoek light, and a small bit of eggnog) and this certainly makes a huge difference.

As I mentioned though, it's still very motivating to be losing so much so fast, regardless of the reasons. Makes the adjustment process to LCHF much easier, as it's hell on the body for the transition phase.

Good job.

I'm feeling much better today regarding the tiredness, etc.

Also, when I ate yesterday, I added a whack of cayenne pepper, which I suspect might help with the fat digestion?

Keep at it :)

Cayenne does stimulate muscle movement and digestion, don't know if it does anything to actually help digest fat. I eat a ****load of cayenne, and tumeric. My dinner plate always looks like a bloody rainbow lol
