It's only the Type-R that will be tricky to live with. The WRX and Megane both come in automatic and are as comfortable as anything else on this thread...Those cars are awesome. Until you need to drive them every day and sit in those interiors![]()
Would you really spend half a mill of your money on this? I know you love hatchbacks but serious question now.
Yeah but spending that on a Polo would still be dumb. M140i is just in another league compared to the Reno and or polo.Half a mill is Polo money, and that is a lot better buy than a friggin Polo.

I think you missed my question. So you would buy this because of the warranty it still has? is that your deciding factor?Mention one fun car for half a million that still has 3-4 yrs and 100000kms left on warranty. I'll wait
I think you missed my question.
Alright, Me personally i would take an M140i, that is obvious by looking at my posts, however if the M140i was out of the question i would think the type R is worth half a mill, But for some reason that reno just doesn't scream half a mill to me. i dont know why. hmmmm .My bad. Yes easily. A megane was on my list. Also a civic R, or GR yaris. But then we bought a house and got twins, so a new car is on the backburner.

Fair enough. Ugh this is too difficult, This is why i will just take a 320d and call it a day.Very few cars scream half a million. I always look at cars with at least 4 yrs warranty on it. It's My criteria. When looking at a 140 that's so new to the right spec. You 700k in bro. That's way more than 500k.
You also need to DRIVE more cars. You might be surprised.

+1 get a bmw with a b58.
M140i, 340i, 240i etc.
You can also unlock some extra ponies after motorplan expires for relatively cheap. Downpipe & software will give you at least a extra 50kw at the wheels and a lot more torques.
B58 has proven to be a lot more reliable than the older n54 & n55
I've always been a proponent for manual shifting - all my cars have been manual up until this point... but modern automatics are far superior.
They can shift a lot faster than any human can and with more gears can keep the car in the ideal torque band for longer. Also the added benefit of being lazy is always a plus.
I'm definitely looking for a automatic.
Once you go automatic you never go back.
A manual is more “fun” on a track, that is it.
For commuting, highway driving, long distance, short suburban hops, auto is far superior.
Any nominations for such in CT?M140i/340i...everything else in the list is going to seem boring. When it's out of motorplan, take it to Ross Duncan Auto for servicing/maintenance.
What about, get a bakkie, a nice one for doing bakkie and daily things
