BBM for Android, iPhone arrives

Does anyone have a link to a downloadable apk? I want to use this in a virtual machine which doesn't have access to the Play Store

Im In!! Success!!:p
But it hasnt pulled through my old contacts as it has with some other users...

Side loaded the APK on my SGS2 - it won't setup on Edge connection ("No Connection Found" error).
I do hope that BBM working isn't dependent on my having 3G...

For anyone with an Android phone - once setup is complete, does BBM still run the entire time?

Keep trying. Eventually you should get through.

I think I have tried over a hundred times. Is there anybody else with the same error? I see other people are getting different errors like server error etc.

To me BBM is really for the following.

a) To be able to have contacts without them knowing your phone number or email (Some people communication is a necessary evil, nice to minimise it as much as possible)

b) For those who want to be sure their message has been read. Mock it all you want but if you actually send something important it's the next best thing to phoning them.

c) A clean crisp UI

I think they have come to the party too late but I do hope it finds its place.

They can still send you an SMS, so what is the difference?

SMS is dying, people have to pay for it and also not seen as a very back forward communication like WhatsApp, Line, Gtalk, BBM etc...
