I've been doing just that. Have been running on a afrihost capped account for the past few days to see if the issues I see on CW is universal or ISP specific. Best time to test them since they have the whole R1 deal thing for a month.

You don't say whether that fixes your problem though?

I'm not one to jump to conclusions, which is why I'm running it for a week or so.
I have different issues then others in this thread, more so related to streaming sites like Vessel and Twitch between 6pm and 00am.

So far Vessel works a lot better on Afrihost. Twitch I am still watching.

Once I have all my data about the differences I see on everything, I'll talk to CW live chat and see what's going on.

Affirmative.

Wait, people use Vessel?

I suspect it's twitch servers and bandwidth of the streamers

Due to no local servers, the high latency has a huge effect on throughput. Twitch doesn't seem to utilize threaded downloads (correct me if im wrong, havent used the site in a long time). Using livestreamer enables threaded segments, which increases stream delay but makes all quality options streamable.

I actually see an average of 16 seconds delay when using livestreamer, only 2 seconds off from watching on twitch.

I just read on another forum that there is a problem with the SEACOM cable and CW notified htxt.africa by email about the issue, but its subscribers are kept in the dark.

How is that for transparency?:mad::sick: I wonder when are they planning to inform the rest of us, in an email, about the SEACOM outage.

Pretty sure most CW traffic hits WACS, not Seacom...

The only way it could impact us as CW users is if Seacom dump all their traffic onto WACS (which CW uses) and this causes congestion issues on WACS.

So how are you impacted again?

I am sure that HTXT should be referring to Cybersmart as the source, not CW.

“While there is no impact on Lightspeed and Cybersmart customers the network will be “at risk” during this time frame,” said Crystal Web in an email.

Anyone here getting slow streaming/downloading speeds atm? Im only getting about 2mbps on a 10mb line.

I thought almost all the ISP's are on SEACOM with WACS and SAT3 as backup.

I am just ticked off for the lack of communication from Crystal Web's side.

What is there to communicate regarding Seacom? htxt.com incorrectly attributed an email to CW and you climb down CW's throat? Jeez :wtf:

And here I thought I was the only one. I have been having this issue on the Premium Uncapped service since this whole new package system went down. One everyone else I am getting rather annoyed with love support and WINMTR saying that there are no issues. That are completely disregarding my testmy.net speed tests results which clearly show a drop in performance. Magically the issue resolves itself at about 2030 to 2100. What has happened to the good, reliable CW in the past...
