Do you own or use a printer?

Own a printer and use it regularly. Home office setup. Printers are still necessary unfortunately.

I have a printer at home and it is used frequently. I would upgrade to a wireless printer so everyone in the family could access it wirelessly. Everyone needs to scan and print something all the time.

Yes. Mostly used to make certified copies of documents required by banks, attorneys, etc.
Scanning of secure and private documents with the option to print will always be a requirement.

I have an HP P1006 laser and an HP Deskjet 3600.

The laser is mainly used for making PCBs and printing out travel documents (when will airports get their cellphone scanning tech right??). Oh, I also use it for 3D cardboard modelling - print, cut, assemble.

The inkjet I only really use for forgeries  - this only happens once in a blue moon, so it's a fairly expensive exercise having to replace the bloody ink cartridges every time, but it beats waiting in queues at official offices. Time is money.

(I'm just kidding about the forgeries :p - here's looking at you, govt stooges)

I print one A4 sheet per month (payslip); I got tired of replacing dried out cartridges, so let my printer die of natural causes.

Own a printer at home. Used seldom - mostly to print electronically received documents to fill FICA and RICA requirements.

Printer at work used very seldomly too

I print Medical aid, bank, investment statements every month.
HP Inkjet 1515 ink advantage.

Have one, use it occasionally. The scanning function is probably more useful.

But I bet you get lots of paper from others'? Unfortunately, we are many years away from a completely paperless society.

At the moment, you can't do much without having to generate or get others to generate paper on your behalf.

No. I get no paper from anyone. I have no voice mail either. If you want to get hold of me you know how to do so. Honestly, I have had the same mobile number since 1999 and I will text/email/whatsapp anyone back that tries to reach me. I am paperless.

Work printer mostly. Mainly used for printing out documents for various applications and stuff. Not really used for day-today things actually. Everything is just sent electronically these days

You are lucky that SARS haven't decided to audit you then, I had over 200 pages, which was too much to load to their EFiling and had to be taken in.

Don't have one. Unless you have lots of printing of documents or photos to print regualrly where its not feasable to have it printed then go to a print shop. Printers must be the worst item to buy. Printer costs about nothing, get to the ink and you pay an arm and leg. Big catch there.

I just dug ours out because I'm working from home for a while. Found cartridges cheap at Firstshop. It's been a few weeks and I haven't even hooked it up though.

I still need to print occasionally - mostly for dealing with institutions that require a paper or a signed copy. Working on two screens allows me to view a lot that I would have previously printed. I do still find paper easier to flip back and forth with as well as to scribble on.

Yes I do own a printer, but in the interests of saving the environment I only use it when absolutely necessary. Otherwise I save all my work to disc

3 At home for wife (home office) and kids (schoolwork) as well as to print the occasional academic articles for students.
5 at (shared) office to print accounts and statements.
Personally I am more than happy to work exclusively on a screen, but cannot see how I will be able to get rid of printers in the foreseeable future.
