Interracial Dating - Advice Needed

I started seeing an Indian girl a few weeks ago. She's Christian, not Hindu, so thats a little easier. I've noticed the looks... But I dont care...

Yes, I stare, especially if the girlfriend is hot. Sue me!

I'm Indian and have a afrikaaner girlfriend. Her family are very open and friendly toward me, but the oupa used to give me the "look" at times. He's warmed up now after getting to know me luckily :)

If I was not luckily married now for 23 years, I probably would have dated someone from another race. I have no issue with that. And yes, I stare too, especially if the GF is good looking.

Yep, this country has its issues still. Also got the stink eye from some of the older generation when I dated a girl not of my race but I really could care less.

I wonder what my father would say if I took a black boyfriend over to his house. He might just explode in anger. :p

The biggest issue with interracial dating in this country is the economic gap IMO. I've dated rich and poor and there is more of a divide in that than colour of the skin.

A Heavenly Blessed Beauty is a Heavenly Bless Beauty, regardless of the colour of her skin.

I wouldn't have an issue dating someone of a different race, cultural differences are more of an issue IMHO.

Cultural and religion was my biggest issue. I have lots of culture and hardly any religion... Didn't g down well wit the guys mom. (Same race) when I told her I'm not dishing up for her son as I'm the geust in her house she almost exploded. :D after that I dated him for pure amusement. How many ways to piss of your bf's mother.

:D it was fun

Seems that a lot of us came "out of the closet", so to speak. :)

I wish more people were like this.

Well played. Too many Indian moms think that because they dish out for their sons, and make him tea and samoosas when he wants a snack and generally act as slaves must realise that the new generation of women aren't like that, even less so if they're from another culture.

When you have a coffee stain on your shirt, you suddenly feel everybody is looking at it! Guess what they are not.
( not saying it is a stain, saying when you feel aware of something you feel other people see it as well.)

Ohhh Mila, your so wise :)
I'm gonna keep this quote at the back of mind

True story...
A friend at work was telling me about her white daughter liking a coloured guy at school. She immediately forbid her daughter to see this guy and then she proceeds to tell me, a coloured guy, ...'if she dates that guy and they break up, no other white guy will want to touch her because she was intimate with a coloured guy'.......
I don't know if there's any truth in the matter but I found it a very sad comment :(

Being on the internet for a long while (most importantly 4chan) I have seen this comment :(

I've dated a few girls of different races, and the culture difference has generally caused problems in the end.. and its not the girl, its the family and everything that comes with...

I once dated an Indian lady and being a Zulu guy it was so difficult for us you know... everyone was against it! The community, the church, the parents, the friends, the siblings!! In the end we broke up... we never stood a chance, no one gave us a chance... but she was very nice! sweetest thing ever!
