MTN SuperSonic Feedback

Thanks for all the great info. I will phone them tomorrow after the line is installed just to make sure it's done right.

So when the free router arrives I will just need to phone them again to release my MAC address for use with the new router correct? Also why is changing routers this much of a hassle on fibre anyway?

It is with Vumatel Trenched as the max address gets cached and locked. Other providers like Openserve no so much as long as you just enter the pppoe details you are good to go. Supersonic will send a Technician to your house to install the router. Also once you have the router there would be some certificates you need to delete if you want to have access to the Zyxel router.

Lol got offered a 2 months free now (was a month as per a previous mail) since they failed in activating my line on the 1st of March. Worth giving them a shot? Vumatel. 2 months of free internet

I would say it's a good deal. Supersonic is working really well on Vumatel by some of the posts here.

I've changed routers without issue on trenched.

Also heard that which was why I was worried before trying but when I tried it, it worked.
I will update with my experience tomorrow with the huawei b618 and again when the provided supersonic router gets setup.

Once you are up and running do provide some feedback if you can. Always nice to see feedback good or bad.

The IPC congestion is still ongoing for Openserve clients tonight is the worst I've seen it. ~25Mbps on a 200Mbps line.

I can not currently recommend any Openserve fibre client to signup with Supersonic nit until they get their IPC rate limit increased which Ray some manager at Supersonic promised will happen this week. Well time is ticking and peak time slowdowns are getting slower....

So this was last night at 20:30

and this is this morning 6am

That is how bad the IPC congestion is which they are aware of and waiting on Openserve to increase but it's sad they waited so long and now Openserve is taking their time to do the rate limit increases. If they had looked at the traffic they would have spotted the issue long ago instead since about the 4th of Feb it's been gradually degrading until it reach for me the lowest point last night.

Vumatel is busy with the installation. Do you guys recommend I phone in supersonic for activation or use thier whatsapp help line? Im just wondering which portal will handle acrivations better.

Hmm that does worry me a bit but I guess we shall see now as they just finished the installation. I will post in a bot on my experience but as far as vumatel goes the service was amazing.

Just give them a call.

Let us know. At the moment, I’ve read through the whole thread and their support isn’t amazing and cancelling even via Vuma seems to be a headache.

Don’t think I’ll take up the free trial :|

Ok so line is done and so far supersonic support has been quite bad.

First phone call the lady said my object number was too short, I then phone vumatel and the object number is correct.

2nd call and the guy says I have to wait for the technician to install as they cannot activate the line. I feel quite annoyed at the difference of responses at the moment.

I originally applied through supersonic. Will doing this cause conflict with my original account?

I think of you did the install through Supersonic it won't work but I stand to be corrected.

Have you sent them a whatsapp number?

As far as I know as soon as vumatel marks the line as installed Supersonic will be able to activate the data. Maybe Vumatel has not marked it as installed yet? No idea though.

Don't think so as long as you choose supersonic, your object number then gets associated with an isp then supersonic will bill you or whatever, you don't deal with vuma again after the install.

You could also choose somebody else and pay installation?
