MTN SuperSonic Feedback

I think of you did the install through Supersonic it won't work but I stand to be corrected.

Have you sent them a whatsapp number?

As far as I know as soon as vumatel marks the line as installed Supersonic will be able to activate the data. Maybe Vumatel has not marked it as installed yet? No idea though.
I tried whatsapp, got a response, posted my question and now silent for and hour and a half .Screenshot_20190307-122338.png

You could also choose somebody else and pay installation?
I would rather wait for the technician then re do this entire procedure. Matbr I should have just chosen cool ideas:unsure:.

Ah well I won't die waiting another week for router setup to arrive.

Just plug any wan router in and set it to dynamic, then go to shop.vuma, you'll be connected in 5 mins.

Vuma don't care who you go with. I preordered with Webafrica so long ago I can't remember, 'thats the reason why I got an installation call from vuma.
I was going to go with vodacom, but on the day, went with wensquad.

Update: it would seem cavedog was right. I just got an email from supersonic stating that my package was active.

I swt the b618 to dynamic ip and boom, up and running.

Speedtest to new york. My current package is 50/5mbpsScreenshot_20190307-125400.png

Nice :) Free month of fibre for you ;)
Not really. I ended up cancelling my telkom lte package due to falling out of coverage area.

The cost of cancelling is 1 months bill payment so in my case R1099 as I was on the 200gb + 200gb package.

So I have to pay for this months internet plus the cancellation fee totaling R2199 but it's worth it to be honest.

This is very useful information. If I ever need to move I would probably cancel supersonic, order a new line through vumatel shop and just pay the installation fee as it would be the quickest route.

You can cancel there aswell after you're logged in ;)

From my experience, it's difficult to cancel with these guys

You saved quite a bit though compared to other networks. If it works well and you don't switch in a while you saved the install fees and 1 month free fibre which is not bad. Even if you did force a cancellation you would anyways just pay back a portion of the install fees BUT then the line gets pushed back to Vumatel and you can switch ISP's without installing a new line so I see the free installation as sort off a discount if you do switch a few months later.

So far loving the experience. Im on the 50/5mpbs package and I am considering upgrading to the 50/50 package. Does the upload speed increase make a noticeable difference in daily use?

I have 3 concurrent users connected and we all stream as well as I play a lot of steam games while they are streaming and am just wondering if it's worthwhile.

Only if you all want to skype at the same time.

So I finally got up and running with SuperSonic. They're a bit slow with their service at the moment.
Speedtest confirms slightly above the 20/20 I ordered.

Only problem is I cant get into the Zyxel router to change any settings. The password on the sticker on the back doesn't work, neither do any default passwords I found.....

@cavedog I just read through your entire thread as I had just skimmed through last time and WOW, just wow.

The beginning seemed very positive until people started having issues which never got resolved, it was the top spot on MB and their pricing that attracted me here so here's hoping they stay good.

Can someone report whether supersonic is actually unshaped/unthrottled as I was looking through their website and there is nothing that actually states that they offer unshaped/unthrottled on thier packages. The reason I ask is all my streaming is done through a smart dns service, so all my streaming servers are based in the US.
