If you dial a pppoe connection like with Vumatel aerial or Openserve the ip should change depending how many times you redial your session. With Vumatel trenched it should change but maybe not as often.
It doesn't change period. The ip address on my usage portal doesn't even match my current ip address that has NEVER changed. It's getting worse as international is now just dead, not slow, dead.

Technical support doesn't seem to think so:giggle:.

The response I get for telling them international is dead is "we dont prioritise international traffic".:giggle:
 
Does anyone know if their ip adress changes and roughly how often? my ip has NEVER chanheged ever since I got my fibre 4 weeks and 3 days ago. My usage also shows different ip address that do not match mine. I am still waiting for thr manager to get back to me and they are trying to convince me that nothing is wrong.
What I've noticed with vuma trenched is your ip only changes when you change speed etc.
 
Ok so a technician had to use teamview to access my router because they couldn't get in. So it turns out my MAC address is different and they are picking up someone using a mikrotech (if that's correct from what I heard) somehere in capetown. I live in durband and am using a zyxel, they are now talking to a manager while I am on hold. I really hate this isp.

Oh something interesting is that they lock you out of the router when it's reset by default but the technician used 192.168.1.1/8443 to access the locked router;)
 
Never mind. While it does take me to the routers login page, I dont know what password they put in:crying:. I guess @cavedog method is still better unless someone can figure out the password:rolleyes:.
 
I canceled with CISP, and switching to Supersonic, this is on Vuma. Hope I dont have any hassles :laugh:

you probably shouldn't have an issue as my account seems to have been messed up from the beginning, I guess my only option left is to cancel as now I am being told the reason my ip address never changes is because my entire block all has the same ip address and it will never change even thpugh their system shows a different ip address.

I see afrihost offers to pay the cancellation fee if you switch isp's. I know afrihost doesn't have the best reputation but all I'm looking for is a connetion that actually works.

The reason why my mac address and ip do not match up with their system is because my block apparently has it's own ip and mac adresse so acording to them everyone in my street will have the same ip address.

When I unplug my equipment their system still shows I am online and apparently this is normal.

My international traffic to twitch, funimation, crunchyroll and hidive cannot be watched in anuthing higher than 480p and their answer that they don't prioritise international traffic.

This issue started about 2 weeks ago and I can't get this resolved anymore as I have already wasted R200 airtime just phoning them back and forth

@cavedog can you do a dns leak test and tell me what where your routing is coming from. Mine is mtnbusiness.co.za

I use 9.9.9.9(Quad9) as my main and 1.1.1.1(Cloudflare) as secondary DNS. I do not use Supersonic/MTN DNS servers.
