MTN SuperSonic Feedback

To think 2 years ago I was on a 10mbps adsl connection and thought people who needed above 20mbps were crazy. Here I am now on a 50mbps connection and thinking to myselft "maybe I should just bite the bullet and get a 1gbps connection".

It's amazing how your needs change when you get faster internet:ROFL:.

Just a Monday night single thread speedtest to London :) Openserve you beauty 100% fibre line uptime since installed 4 months ago and not slowed once. Just one hiccup by Supersonic but once they upgraded their IPC it's been flying 24/7. Gaming is a dream.

I simply cant believe it! Openserve is busy rolling out in my area. I have to do a bit more looking around for ISP's with a great price for the 200meg package. Is Supersonic the only ISP that offer such a great deal ? My limit is nothing more than 2k a month. Super happy to see they have exceptional SINGLE THREADED international speeds!

There are a few ISPs that offer 200Mbps at less than R1800.

Supersonic, Cybersmart, BitCo.

Others like Vox, Cybersmart business, Cellc Cfibre and Accelerit offer it for just under R2k.

Cool Ideas is R2400 I think.

So yeah you gonna need to shop around a bit but the 100Mbps on Openserve has sooo many options ranging from R1199 to R1500.

Really after that 200meg though. No way im forking out R2400 when I see whats going on, on that thread, I'll let them go through their dip before I would consider them.

To be honest I can not see myself forking out R660 more for the exact same service. I'm 100% happy with Supersonic. When the IPC was congested after complaining they gave me another free month. I think Supersonic is best on Openserve 200

That Cfibre deal though. You need to start an official cfibre thread. If I had Vumatel then hello 1Gbps :D

^^^ This, a CFibre thread would be great actually. I do Know they had problems with international speed a few months back one ZA Streamer I follow has CFibre, But their prices are so good as well! Having some user feedback would be great.

I’m busy with renovations
I reckon once that’s done and I have network points everywhere I’ll start one

I’m sure there are others here on cfibre 1gbps? No?
Btw websquad said their 1gpbs offering limit international speeds at 200mbps is that still the case and is that the case with others offering 1gbps at R1499

It’s clear from my tests the cfibre doesn’t limit international speeds

Yeah Websquad limits to 200Mbps for the most part and Cool Ideas to 100Mbps.

I tried to find that on CIs website but no luck
Where do they state that?

*The 1Gbps package offers 1000Mbps of local download and 100Mbps of international download speeds. The upload for both routes are 100Mbps

It's there right on top in yellow just after the setup fee when you click Vumatel on their website.

Lol completely missed it cos i thought it just warned you bout install fee....
Thanks

Managed to get a new TP Link C2 which is still sealed on Facebook for R300. Ditching the Zyxel for now because it was just not that reliable because wifi stops working after a few days then suddenly it freezes and I did not have chance to schedule a technician to come and install a new one. I will see when they can fit me in to replace it over a weekend.

Speeds were stuck on 100Mbps and I'm not sure why the Openserve Huawei ONT was keep on giving the TP Link and previously my Zyxel 100Mbps on the WAN port. Long pressed the reset button on the Openserve ONT and now it seems everything is working fine again :giggle:

@cavedog when you used the huawei b618 with your fibre, did the lan light blink constantly?

switching back to the huawei b618 as the zyxel just wont let me use my smart dns properly. fast router but not everything functions properly.
