No Data connection but full signal

Tried all the above, it is not a hardware problem it is Cell C's problem, they need to sort out there network.
That is as simple as it gets!

It seems like their network simply can't handle the load. This morning I came into the office in central Sandton a bit early. Speeds were fine initially, but as people started getting to work, performance started dropping to the point that Gmail times out.

Centurion Area is also very bad. Best result on speedtest was 0.6mbps

It used to be about 5mbps before I took out a data package

Same with me, my one and only son is also @UP, staying Hatfield/Arcadia area. For a decent voice call he has to go outside, happily his student place has ADSL, but also that data connection is far from perfect. My experience with Data using my speed stick and laptop in many areas of Gauteng on Cell C is that it leaves a lot to be desired. Looks like they are overselling the network. And rather work on that one than that Grand Head Office near the Buccleugh interchange. Here in a small rural town, everything seems to be OK.

I have 2 x 2G contracts. in the Kyalami area I have full signal on HSDPA but feels like i'm working on an old 56k modem

Absolutely zero throughput in Parktown Estates(Pretoria). Signal is showing full (4 bars) with H+. Can't do speedtest as the Android app cannot connect to the web to refresh the list of available test servers

I remember reading an article and some PR person from voda said that you pay more with voda because their quality of service is better...I laughed when I read that and happily ported my self (S3) and the wife (iphone) to cell c. Right now the whole 99c/min or 15c/mb means bogorol to me as neither my wife or I get any decent data connection. And like many ppl, phone indicates full signal. Often calls only go through on the 3rd redial....pathetic... I'm just glad I took out the 1 month contract...

This morning my cellc SIM in my myfi device just wouldn't work no matter what I did, but my phone is working fine (am currently using it without WiFi connected, just using mobile data)

seems like a congestion problem. Strange - my mifi is dead with no data going through but my iphone still connects no problem.

Same problem since I got both my contracts at the end of January. No HSPA+ connection but I was able to browse on EDGE, lately I can't even do that. Everything BlackBerry related fails even on EDGE and 3G in non-existent. I have logged a complaint with the Cell C rep on this forum and someone contacted me. They said it has to be a problem with the tower and that the will send someone to fix it in 5-7 working days. The problem is just getting worse but at least the customer care I am experiencing is great.

Kempton as well. This seems to be a bigger problem than cell c thinks... Full signal. H+. = nothing

I have the same, haven't been able to connect to 3G since last week at ALL on my iPad . I'm on prepaid and know I still have data left...besides it doesn't give me the data finished message anyway, just that the server stopped responding when I try to open any web pages. My wireless connection is working perfect via home network. Im not sure if I have a setting wrong or something....but I have tried restarting, reconnecting, airport mode on and off etc etc, still dead. It's infuriating that I actually have to stare out my window on my way to work instead of pass the time by surfing..( I'm a passenger)...worse...I sometimes even have to make conversation haha :p
