Oneplus 5T

It's a freaking great phone!! Love mine too!!

Accessories are a bitch to source locally.

There is very little support for oneplus in SA at the moment...

I'm also using a white nillkin cover on my star wars edition 5t. Lovely case, really compliments the phone but very impractical colour and already showing signs of discoloration.

I feel the need to wash it regularly but it's quite a hard cover and tight fitting. I don't want to be putting it in and taking it off regularly for fear of scuffing.

Nillkin do a clear silicon cover too but I wasn't impressed with the quality. Too thin and soft. Minimal protection.

The Star Wars edition came with a Kylo Ren themed case. Black, very thick and bulky but maximum protection. Not a bad case but I found its weight and bulk, unusual shape and form factor makes it tedious to use.

My battery stats aren't all that impressive but I do get a kick out of the storage space stats.

What is the difference between the Star Wars edition and the regular?

Not much really. Star Wars only comes in 128gb/8gb variant, comes with kylo ren cover and fancy box and the phone has a star wars logo at the back of the phone.

Also the power brick design is different. Star wars power brick design is crazy though. It's a fat square brick and incompatible with most stock plug points.

Oh, and you got some Star Wars themes included, wallpapers and what not...

I get about between 4 and 5 and a half hours screen on time on my S6 edge, so for now I'm holding on to see what the next OnePlus will be like, otherwise I'll seriously consider the next Pixel.

Well, for starters the 6 is likely to be close to half the price of the equivalent pixel.

Rumor has it the 6 will go with the notch design which is rather irritating.

845 Snapdragon, usual 128gb/8gb variants , perhaps a 256gb model as well.

I'm hoping for significantly improved camera optics and software, maybe OIS vs the current EIS.

If OnePlus go with a notch design then that will be the point where I start taking out premium contracts to get Samsung devices. Can't adequately impart my hatred of those stupid notches.

Agree with this Bryn... That stupid notch on the iPhone is dang ugly and an irritation.

Yep. Reason I got rid of the X. Android P Developer Preview has a notch setting to simulate a notch. So I assume there will be a few companies that will bring out phones with a notch.

Getting mine later on this evening , would have loved a Red one , but settled on the Black 128gb 5T after getting a good deal on it . Had a OnePlus 3 in the past , can't wait to get onto the 5T .

What deal did you get if I may ask ?

Really loving the battery life, I'm sitting on 29% battery wise with 5h20min screen on time.

which version of the s9+ do you think he is using? snapdragon or exynos?

edit: i see it is the exynos
That's the quicker chip apparently. 5T is a beast of a phone. Done so well to optimize software and hardware. I've never had such a hard on for a phone before. It gets more attention than my SO.

LOL the samsung animations is slower, deliberately, which can obviously be easily tuned, but yeh, i think it will maybe still lose.

But these speed tests are kinda pointless, no one uses their phone like that. Samething goes for those geekbench results

Yeah. One can easily tweak those in developer options.

I think comparisons where 1 app is opened at a time is a truer reflection of everyday world use.

There is something incredibly satisfying using a fast and responsive device though.
