As you can see in the thread and my signature below.. Care to share any of Zelda's excuses?

Afrihost are having issues with their DSL Network at the moment due to lack of capacity and deny all accusations.

Best to keep with an IS ISP, Webafrica or Crystal Web.

Well, I signed up for a capped account with openweb.

To my surprise, The accounts are limited to 10mbps speeds, on my 40 meg line, I get 9,39mbps download speed on speedtest.

They are complete ****ing crooks, all they do is steal peoples money. No two ways about it. Since WHEN does a CAPPED UNSHAPED account get limited to 10mbps ????

Yup, I seem to remember that with IS capped accounts each connection halfs the throughput. So you probably share the account with 3 other people.

Maybe on uncapped but generally on capped that's not the case

wanted to test this so ghostR and I bought a 5GB capped account which I got confirmation via email from OW that it would work on my multiple 20Mbs lines without limiting and run uncapped midnight to 6am.

Your question was very vague. The support answer was also vague.

The account works on VDSL but is limited to 10Mbps.

I'm not going to argue or say Openweb is the best because they are not. I just like their accounts. It is a up to 10Mbps unshaped capped account. That is what I like about it. Ohh and it is very very very good value for money. That is it.

People insult Openweb saying OMG Openweb is a fraud but the Crystalweb thread in the VDSL section everyone is attacking the OP because he did not read the FAQ......

I don't understand. I'm neutral. I don't pick sides. I test all the accounts where I can and pick the best. For me on 10Mbps that is Openweb and if someone asks I will tell them from my experience how it is.

And since I use my resller account to buy my accounts just for myself btw at a discounted rate and get to pay manually with a cc the capped accounts show maximum 10Mbps. That page is not even updated to show that the "late" data is unlimited because it is. Just shows that it was limited to 10Mbps from the start.

Continue supporting an ISP who tries to lock you into a product by lying when you ask about it pre-sale.

If I ask if it will work on VDSL, and then tell me oh yea it works but at 10Mbs, you CANNOT believe that they're not trying to deceive you.


But with all the information that has come to light, you still choosing ignorance is idiotic.

After you advised me otherwise:wtf:

I'm like this....... once bitten twice shy. I have cancelled my Openweb account and you will not believe me but the day after I done so my service went to the dogs!

In a nutshell I cant download after 7pm or @ midnight faster than 10kbps.

I'm glad I'm leaving these idiots!

What line you got and what account? If it is uncapped yeah it is not good at all not matter how low they drop the price. I suggest going for a decent unshaped capped account.

Haha, it was more for testing reasons, I signed up for a capped account from them - their smallest one.
