Do you want/need an APN that allows connections initiated from outside the APN?

Can you guys with access please test the unrestricted apn?

Let us know from what access network you tested and what ports.

The provisioning process should also be completed soon.
 
Can connect again on unrestricted apn :D using mtn and telkom adsl on port 80 works like a charm only that when i connect with the telkom connection sometimes it decides to drop the connection on my 3g router and dont wanna dial again ? weird one ?
 
THanks v3g the unrestricted apn is working like a bomb thanks for all your patience Vodacom sure does set the standards for other networks to follow :D
 
I second that THANKS v3g And please let us know as soon as the provioning is up So i can start to set up my clients on the apn ;)
 
When the new provisioning is up, we might flush all the current numbers provisioned and let everyone get provisioned via the correct channel.

We've jippo'ed a lot of numbers into the system to help you guys in the mean-time and these won't survive a failure as the database systems don't know about them to restore them.

So when we're ready, I'll let you know.
 
Routing

Hey hey,
Thanks so much .... It's great to know we've got a working backup for our ADSL. I can ping the HSDPA router, and get to it's admin page from outside, just havin a bit of trouble routing the the machines behind it.
But the unrestricted APN does work :)

Hi V3G The Unrestricted APN works great 99% of the time, however there are times when I have experienced no port 25 connectivity, even after a connect, disconnect. This Port 25 block (on an unrestricted apn) can sometimes last a few hours and in those cases I switch back to internetvpn and things get going again quickly. I have also noticed on at least 2 occasions in the last few weeks where my connection was dropped and it would not reconnect ... just gives an error when you try to connect, again I switch back to internetvpn and it works fine. Overall it seems to be OK and I trust that these little bugs will be ironed out as we go ahead. Let us know when and if we have to re-provision ourselves, keep up the good work !!!!

If you can PM me detailed info on what you see, with times, dates and from where it would help.

We're definitely not doing any port blockong of any kind. There are no such configs to this effect, so I'm not sure what's blocking your port 25.

Is this in or out? Not maybe a blacklisting?
 
I just phoned 155 and was told that this service is still not available (And no launch date was promised). It would really make my life SO much easier if this worked. I see there are several people on this forum using it, more or less succesfully. V3G is there anyway you can sort me out? pleeese!

OK unrestricted apn working intermittendly ,worked like a charm the whole of last week ,since saturday it will let me in if it wants to and sometimes will just not connect at all ,sometimes lets me in but then looses the connection , tested with the internetvpn and connected like a charm. Are the servers being tested again ?????????

Situated near Johannesburg CBD , Tried again this morning to connect from my office with my telkom adsl line and just strikes a blank ,last week all was 100% could connect from any line at any time and with any connection.

same problem very intermittend, funny thing is that i can connect with my mtn connection but with no other , STRANGE......
