these upgrades have been ridiculous. Im still sitting with 4mb. Telkom have no plans to upgrade me to 10mb.

Their "scientists" don't think we need it you see. They are of the opinion that 384 kbps is plenty speed.

Yeah, still, sweet, blow, bugger all, in Bloemfontein ....

And even Cell C, have opened in Bloem at 21mbps ...

Telkom is, I am afraid, going the way of the Dinosaur ... , FAST ... , ah, well, "Welcome to Africa" I suppose ... , not to mention Government Companies ... , another "Ja, Well, No, Fine ... " situation ... <sigh> ...

still nothing here still on G.dmt and 4 meg

Still nothing on my side either (Tableview, Cape Town). No word from Telkom, no word from MYBB either. Come on guys - how about a follow up with Telkom and some fresh input as to progress and plans? Or is the PR over?

I see not even their availability checker site works any more...

Many people on exhanges which have been upgraded to 10 Mbps are now suffering terrible latency at peak times (150-200ms), so don't wish for something that may become your worst nightmare:
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/268237-LATENCY

I am at work during peak times, so I don't really care. I want my exchange and speed upgraded. I want to know if/when it is going to happen. If we all just sit back now and say nothing more, then Telkom will simply do nothing more. We need to maintain the pressure. If this all just goes silent, then they have had a very successful marketing campaign, without the need to follow through with their promises. I am a prime example of the success (for Telkom) of this campaign. I was on a 384Kbps connection (for years), but upgraded to 4Mbps, JUST BECAUSE they promised us 10Mbps. Now i am paying more, but not getting what was promised. Besides that - why should I pay the same for my 4Mbps connection as what others are paying for a 10mbps connection (I know this has already been discussed, but still)? We need to stir up the coals again, otherwise the embers will just fade and die.

Im still on 4mb in Sandton..is anyone that is connected to the benmore exchange been upgraded to 10mbps?

edgemead, cape town... 021 558 xxxx

sigh @ that, considering Im less than 1 km from a major exchange... pretty fail if you ask me

:(

Waiting ever so impatiently for the upgrade. It's been ages. Upgrade or lower the cost. Come on Telkom!

At least you guys have been synced at 4mbs. try having a 4mb line that is only synced at 1mb.
In PE they wont consider pushing the accounts to 4mbs in some areas.

At the MyBroadBand conference, Steve Lewis from Telkom said that the requirements for 10Mb are Metro-E in the area and ADSL2+ enabled DSLAMS. Anyone have an up-to-date map of Telkom's Metro-E rollout?

I can't believe Tel**** hasnt gotten to us yet :(
