BBM for Android, iPhone arrives

Took ages to load. But it works.
One has to understand that blackberry messenger is very big in South Africa. Also you can broadcast a message to 1000's of contacts (if you have them almost instantly using the correct methods) I think Blackberry are hoping to re-position themselves from a cellphone maker into a social media company ( ala Twitter)
It makes business sense as they are only selling phones in 3rd world countries now with Africa and South Africa having the biggest user base.

Ah, yes. Thank you BB. Use the third world to dump your crap that no-one else wants. Shame on you third world for lapping it up.

So I wait to download an app and then I have to wait use the app.

If patience is a virtue, people should be canonized for getting BBM working on other platforms.

What makes it crap, enlighten us ?

The few who have actually given a reason have been the fact of requiring a contact based system (In which case they should hate many other messengers)

a million in the que, will properly download for my xperia z in December, I got my email but says for samsung

Blame the carriers. Until they reduce data charges, the 3rd world will continue to use BB as it's the cheapest way to communicate. It baffles me as to how many people especially in the IT world fail to understand this

If you read the article correctly you will see that Samsung users get the app now and all other Android users get the app on Friday.

Point.

I noticed that they give you the option to remove the "connected" message from the notification bar.

One thing about BBM in South Africa. It works.
Just last week a gang of robbers were caught thanks to the Midvaal Community Policing Forum on BBM.
The network works.

Hoax! There's no such thing as Midvaal!

How do I get my BBM app to pull through my old contacts?
I did use the correct BB ID, my old BB name popped up so the details were all correct.
Maybe all my contacts deleted me?:D

Installed from Samsung Apps, setup was quite smooth. Now to load some contacts...

Also... the third world is most of the world.

Blackberry took as from a very dark time when we only had sms and paid out the arse for it.
