Wow :D That must of sucked.

You actually pull the entire top of the modem apart (not the electronic bit). Look closely at the bottom where the CellC logo is. You stick your nails in there and pull it apart :p

Double :D:D It was the E173 that I had a battle with, not the MF190.

Sometimes is helps to file off the little "nipp1es" with nailfile or something from a new SIM before you stick it in.

What a bad design.
Actually is not, but is counterintuitive. You expect that bottom cover is going out, but it is a top cover. If you don't read f*** manual, you will end up pulling in the wrong direction! I love it!

CELL C ZTE MF-190 PROBLEMS ACCESS VIOLATION

Hi
About a month ago I had huge problems with my Cell C ZTE MF-190 modem. I phoned Cell C help who told me to go to Cell C shop. I purchased a new sim card. Then I went to another Cell C shop (Cresta) to have the sim checked on a internet connected PC. The sim did work. However, it continued to fail to connect on my laptop. I searched the internet, and I am absolutely certain I found the solution on My Broadband. The forum post linked to another site which linked to a MS site. It had a lot of instructions involving the device manager and the 'modums'.

Now I am having the same problem with the modum. After days of searching, I cannot find the forum that had this useful information.

This is what happens when I try to connect to the internet:
An error message appears: "is not an interger ---- access violation at address 006800EA in module UImain.exe Read of address 000002EC ------ EAccessviolation

I unistall the driver (????) and reistall. The interface for the cell c appears but cannot connect.

Can anyone direct me to the forum or links that have the solution? Or can anyone help me resolve the modum problem?

Thanks

Just so other people know.
To solve the problem, I downloaded the ZTE modem update from Cell C site. I then, through trial and error, unistalled and reinstalled the driver. It's a miracle! I managed to connect to the internet. I did this without the assistance of the Cell C people who failed to help me . (I don't think they know what they are doing.) However, the connection is still (as usual) slower than a sloth with parasitic fungi growing on it's toes.
