MTN SuperSonic Feedback

Want another test account :)

Thank you for the offer but 200Mbps is life I can't see myself with anything less than 200Mbps and R2409 is a bit too much for me although I'm being raped by Supersonic.

@cavedog that is really shitty! Bait and switch is not cool. I wonder if anyone on the forum can dispense some legal advice?

I'm looking at my options but after this I doubt I will stay with them even if they don't release the line I will look at my options and take it from there. Just sad how they can just change it like that. What am I supposed to do with this crappy Zyxel router anyways. Not even worth a cent let alone the R999 they ripping me for it.

Eish that sucks my man. ISPA complaint?

Remember my offer on pm

nah my guy this cant be true. How can they make up the t&c's as they go along without informing the a client about it? maybe just a Email or a call, a smoke signal or something. You know what they say, when something is too good to be true, it usually isn't. Once again thanks for the feedback, and I hope you can get to a better resolution soon!

Yeah so I'm going to check what my options are today and take it from there.

@cavedog why the move and who are you moving to?

Supersonic has a very nice network but Openserve is the problem with IPC. Their IPC is congested again and I have the proof and showed them. A lot of tests and results I sent to them but they say IPC is not congested but it is. 180ms to IPC JHB at Teraco is unacceptable but they said it's acceptable. So how do I change their minds? So tried but failed so I requested cancellation instead.

I was looking at Macrolan on Openserve.

Ah yeah that is unacceptable. You only got Openserve available as a provider?

Yes. So Ive been switching between Vox mybroadband fatpipe special and Supersonic but got tired of doing that because I'm paying R1749 for Supersonic. SO why not just go with Macrolan 200Mbps on Openserve for R1380 per month then keep my Vox as backup. Even if Macrolan IPC gets congested at least its much cheaper per month so the saving I will be making is substantial enough to have a backup account.

Nice thing about Openserve is they can’t hold your line randsom. Vuma is another cup of tea.

Are you sure about that because Supersonic said they will not release the line until all the fees are paid in full

Can’t you just change the PPPOE details?
Albeit they can’t just suspend the line

Already submitted the cancellation which will come into affect on the 25th. So on 25 the pppoe details will stop working and the line probably put in a suspended mode until all fees are paid then they will cancel it and move it to the holding pool.

I need the cancellation order number from them to give to the new ISP to move the line from Holding pool to them but if Supersonic does not put the line in the holding pool I'm stuck unless I action a new installation but Supersonic will come for me for the remaining balance so don't want that.

Sad they are charging me the full installation fee of R2300 + R578 activation fee + R999 for the router. A lot of money considering that Openserve is not charging them for installation.

Geezus.. and to think I almost joined them until they ducked up my Vuma line.

Sorry mate

consider yourself lucky, trying 3 vumatel isps in 1 month cost me:
cancellation websquad = R699
Homeconnect 1 day = R1560 (debit went off today)
Macrolan prorata half month and full next month = R1380 (debit went off today)
I've cancelled macrolan but line is still working so I guess it will end at month end.

moral of the story, if you're on vuma, choose wisely or you pay.

O/T : R699 from WebSquad for the connection fee?
Why’d you leave?

According to MTN Noc 100ms to IPC is acceptable and is not an indication of congestion.

Look at this MTR. IPC CONGESTION and they say they have plenty of capacity. IPC is running at max 65% but look at the latency.
