MTN SuperSonic Feedback

Are there any MyBroadband Journalists that cannot write an article on this? There must be thousands of Supersonic customers going through this for years, and the Company completely ignores them and takes their money.

That won't happen ... voted top ISP a couple of months ago ... laughable to say the least

Where do you think the money they are taking is going...?

What would the packet loss translate into real terms?

If one had to download a 100kb file it would actually use 139kb of data? Meaning you paid 39% more than you should have...

Not sure, asking...

The reliable TCP transport layer will request that missing IP packets be resent. So a bit more control plane traffic but not that you'd notice. The original missing packets never got sent to you.

The real issue is that the effective transfer of data slows down and stutters, because every now and then the TCP layers needs to get the missing packets, before it can restore the integrity of the data stream and deliver it to the application. So the application gets stuck waiting for data that arrives in bits and pieces.

That is why video buffers or games stutter.

I lodged a mediation request with ISPA, ISPA was very quick with responses, we now waiting for Supersonic to respond, ISPA give the service provider 14 days to respond, if you go to HelloPeter.com and check the rating, you can have between a -100 and +100 score, Supersonic is on -83, do you really want to with a company that do not give rat's back tail about their customer..

Exactly, and on a platform like twitch where it is crucial to have all data in sequence at the right time, it renders streaming useless

Wow, you actually got someone to answer the phone.

My standard response from them was always to do a speedtest, them not understanding that packet loss is different to slow speed. Most useless company on the face of the eart

Ive had fights with them, they cancelled 2 services due to "a system error" took 7 weeks to fix the one and 4 to fix the other.
Constant issues with drops, latency etc.....
Ive never been able to use their portal, it will not register my or my wife's cell number.
My PPPoE password on their system does not match that on my router, when I had a router failure they were unable to provide me with PPPoE updates and TG I had the first one saved somewhere. They told me it would take 3-7 days to change my PPPoE password on their side.

Its been 3 years of hell, yeps this is the last straw, cancelling today.

Question is, is it risky to cancel in December. In theory the new ISP will just need to take over the Vuma service but the last supersonic account I canceled for a friend, they canceled the Vuma line and Vuma took 3 weeks to "Install" a new service and ONT
The joys

Thanks, makes sense as to why videos stutter so often especially from 9 / 10pm on wards...

Also been fighting the beast and don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. I'm on MTN FNO so less choices for me unfortunately.

You need to give a full calendar month's notice. If you serve before end Dec, then Jan is your notice month. 1 Feb is when you start with new provider. The holidays should not affect you.

I went through a month-long process with the ISPA and Supersonic, only for them to admit there is an issue. When I asked them how they are going to compensate me for the past 2 years of extremely unstable connection, they have ceased all communication.

The ISPA themselves have also not gotten back to me in over a week at this point.

What an awful company. I'm considering taking legal action at this point.

I have also just filed with ISPA. It will most likely just cause annoyance for the Supersonic c*nts.

@Jaredza
Do you perhaps mind sharing what issue they told you exists?

Thanks

Supersonic. When your company is soooo kak you just could not care any more.....

Every rating and public feedback forum everywhere is nothing but complaints and poison.
Not a single response. Just deflecting you to a DM or a PM.

That's right, try and sweep it under the rug. But disgruntled customers will expose you and post the facts!
