My account has been running very nicely - strange enough, even on P2P it hauls ass
+1
My account run so well, that I switched to a backup account this morning for 3.5GB PSN game update.

I just felt bad for the account and didn't want put strain on the network during the day.

I must be pretty lucky. My account is running like a bullet train. Haven't checked for packet loss lately.

Shoo, ok, feeling better!!

I'm very happy with my account currently.
There have been complaints though and CW has acknowledged that there are issues and it was supposed to be resolved, but a spanner was thrown in the works by Telkom.
They are busy implementing with a workaround.

It seems it is especially the >10Mbps account that are influenced, but that is only my opinion and shouldn't be taken as a fact.

I'm on a 4Mbps account in the EC and like I said, it is running like a bat of hell.
I've had some packet loss issues that could be related to Telkom infrastructure, according to CW.
It does not seem to impact me as far as I can determine.

I upgraded to 20Mb because my CW 4Mb account ran so badly.
Now I have a 20Mb account that runs worse than the 4Mb.

Apparently Telkom have now also screwed my line up because I can't even use the ADSL in the slightest considering it can't stay connected for more than 5 minutes before disconnecting.

Joy

Eish man, seems you have all the luck in the world and it is mostly bad luck when it comes to ADSL.
:(

Really hope you get sorted soon.

Well when I still had a 10Mb/s line, it ran like a bat outta hell. Ever since the move to VDSL, I have had only problems. Hopefully the FTTH will be around sooner rather than later...

Okay, I've been invoiced for the month of December, but the way the line is currently performing I don't want to use it in the month of December and am reluctant to pay.

I've yet to receive my invoice for December (because I was apparently a day late with my cancellation notice) but as I said in a previous post, at this stage I have no intention of paying simply because for just about half of the month CW has not been able to provide me with the service(account) I paid money for. I would have been much more tolerant and understanding if the service was slightly degraded and erratic but when I'm consistently struggling to achieve even 25% of my line speed that's just not on.

I've purchased over 200gb's of data elsewhere this month to compensate for the poorly performing CW account

I also went the route of purchasing a 2nd, capped account elsewhere just so I could actually have usable internet for the remainder of the month.

I am really not complaining either I have a 4MB account & it runs perfectly - seems like it's just the guys on the higher speeds that are affected? Bit strange though no feedback from CW today they are normally very quick with their replies?

My 10 meg is up and down. Yesterday morning, line speed.
Yesterday evening, no more than 4mbps

RRD graph.jpg

Another PS4 has been added to my network and Sickbeard suddenly added a long list of files to be downloaded.
The result is that my line has been working hard since Monday in order to download games and updates.

The space on the left hand side is where I stopped the PS4 downloading and the line was petty much idle for the afternoon till 17:00 and then activities began. At about 19:00 my QoS kicked in, limiting to about 800kbps.

At 00:00 scheduled downloads started and QoS was released and ran at about 3.5Mbps for most of the night.

07:15 I forced the CW account to fail and my backup account kicked in.This is depicted by the white space. I did this because I pulled a lot of GB's in the last few days.

Close to 13:00 I activated the CW account again in order to complete a game update. Once again the line ran at full tilt.
Currently the QoS is running again and will only release at 00:00 tonight.

^^ As you said yourself RoMark, you must be pretty lucky. There are some CW customers who's accounts are motoring but for a lot of us the speeds are just k@k and have been so for a while now.

Not at all. Plenty of us here with 4MB accounts.

I haven't had any problems UNTIL waking up today to an unuseable account. I mean that literally, pages take so long to load they timeout, this is the 4th refresh of the thread that has succeeded for me since 8am. Now if it was regional I'd expect other account holders to be complaining (or once upon a time - MyBB to actually cover it as broadband news), but those are mixed reports as well, so I'm not sure what to make of this.

The only thing I'm sure of is this is NOT how the connection should be performing, dial-up had less packet loss.

Yeah definitely. Only posted the info so that potential customers can see that the ISP can perform.
I rarely use my line at those levels for long times.

No doubt that lots of people are having issues though.

I have no doubt that CW are working hard to resolve the problems. Their reputation is on the line after all and they have no desire to fail.

Who knows, maybe tomorrow I will be posting graphics of 5kB/s downloads instead of 3.5Mbps.

The account setup is great. When it starts working for everyone, it will be a success in my opinion.

Started up my Afrihost prepaid to burn some GB I purchased a while ago and it it constant on 241KB\s download with the occasional spike to 270KB\s.

That is half line speed on my 4 meg line, which is the best I had this last 3 weeks; better than 30KB\s downloads that take forever on CW.

If there is no improvement by 15 Dec I am gone.......

Sorry CW, but one can only take that much for paying a premium amount for a dial-up account.........

Touch wood my account has been better this week than it was earlier on in this month.
Pulled down +-1.2gigs from Mega at line speed this morning.
It's still not back to pre-November levels yet though.

Ummm, a 4mb line gives me a constant 420kB/s.

Are you sure you don't have other problems? I ran my AH capped account for almost 7 hours @ 425kB/s this morning.

I don't know. The CW account did not loose sync yet since sometime last week, but the router was power cycled Sunday night because I had to switch off the ups when Eishkom had loadshedding.
