@Crystal Web - any feedback on the PM I sent you regarding the fibre offerings? I filled out the fibre survey 2 weeks ago and have as yet not heard anything back about that either.
 
BTW guys, mercurial should be contacting you guys to test his line out.

Hasn't yet as far as I can tell. I know Merc, and don't see a support request on my end from him yet. If you do talk to him, ask him to hop on later this afternoon when our lines manager is back in the office.
 
Well, signed up for a trial account yesterday. Still no login details or anything via e-mail. Not a very good first impression guys. :erm:

Did you receive an acknowledgement email that says it may take up to 24 hours for free trial accounts?

Granted. However as has been mentioned in this thread they are in the process of rolling out new systems. So while from a customer's perspective it's pretty useless as the business side has nothing to do with you, it is understandable considering the massive influx of new users and the upgrades they are making.

Have you chatted to their online support staff about this yet? Have yet to ask them something that they cannot answer or sort out in 10 minutes.

Just chatted to live support and they resent the e-mail. All is well. :) Excellent support! Wow. I do hope you guys can keep this up and not falter in service levels like a certain red-branded ISP. ;)
 
Hopefully converted someone yesterday as well, in game D3.... guy was complaining about his afrihost connection so I just told him what my current latency was ;)
 
In regards to the "ADSL price cut" that is being talked about.
No matter how small or big the cut is, I would much prefer CW kept their prices the same.
Ignore what other ISPs will do, and do what you do best - Quality.

What is the theoretical limit we can push on these accounts before we get told to calm down? I have a bulk of xbox live games to download, so its gonna over shoot a few hundred gigs:P

I don't think they will have a problem the amount but rather the time you are downloading ... after midnight and you should be ok :)
 
I would love to know what my best option will be at the moment I have a premium home uncapped 4 meg account costing R429.00 p/m I never go over 100 gig a month do a lot of streaming (every night) but in SD (would like to do in HD) & download a couple of torrents a week (+- 4 to 5 gig) if I took a capped account it would be a LOT cheaper & on the cheapest one I get 90 gig a month plus extra during 12 - 6 am right? can someone advise if this would be a better option for me thanks

no limit. as i understand it. shaping happens when the network is under strain. no strain - no shaping. so if everyone does nothing, and you the only guy that rapes the internet, good on you ;)
