Ah dammit, public holiday today, so cannot talk to billing.

I used the SnapScan app earlier today to pay my invoice to you guys, the transaction shows up in the app as paid but I received no confirmation of payment.
My credit card has not been charged either, so I really don't know if it is functioning like it should. I guess the public holiday has something to do with it?

Can you PM me or send an email to billing with the reference that you used? We should be able to sort this out fairly easily, and rest assured, we will never charge you twice. That's not in our veins at all.
 
It's possible for Netflix to use that much with UltraHD, which chows around 6.5mbps if I remember correctly. 60GB would be about 15 hours of watching or so. Maybe a little more.
Oh by the way, you can also press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-S while a Netflix stream is playing (not in fullscreen though), and then manually lower the bitrate there, if you want.
Likewise, Ctrl-Alt-Shift-D shows you your current bandwidth consumption and bitrate.

Don't think that works anymore. Wanted to check something a while back and the popup didn't appear, tried 3 or 4 more times then gave up and just forgot about it.

I recently signed up for the crystal web basic uncapped 2mbps (My line can only get up to 2mbps).

So far streaming has been excellent (altholugh I don't stream that much)

Downloads between 00:00-06:00 has been super fast. However torrents during the day or even after 5pm until 00:00 or over weekends are extremely slow. I get like 1-3kbps if I'm lucky and sometimes it is totally dead. A 300mb file can take 12-18 hours to download if left on during the day. I understand that torrents don't get high priority but is this speeds correct?

Would it make a difference if I upgrade to premium uncapped or to basic business uncapped?

I should also state that I don't download a lot (use between 70-120 gigs per month), but not currently intrested in capped account .

Yup that is normal I would assume. You cannot expect to do torrents during the day and get much better on a basic package. I am on the 2Mbps Premium uncapped and yes the shaping is more relaxed but tested torrents during the day last week just to see what the shaper does, I was fine for a bit and then got hit with shaping. For the good of the cause be a team player and schedule those downloads for 00:00 - 06:00.

At work now, I shall get all that together tonight :) I used the invoice number from the latest invoice and your logo is showing in SnapScan. I will send a screenshot of that too.
 
I have just signed up for a home capped account, and when the details were sent to me, the spelling in my Dad's name is wrong. I have asked that it be corrected, but have been told that it can't be done.

Can anyone help please?

Have to ask the developers to try to assist but it's on the username side which makes it difficult to simply change, as it needs updating directly on the radius which support staff cannot do. I'll see what I can sort out for you though.

Thank you.... Dad was sort of told to just "live with it" by support. We suggested that the account be cancelled and new one with correct details be provisioned... I do know most systems do not allow editing of details once profile is created.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

PS. do you need the details for the account, or name?

No need. I found it on our system as the support staff came to talk to me about it already after the chat with your dad. There are some development reasons as to why this is a little tricky as it requires changing a considerable number of things on our end that all tie to the username, and these all need to be updated manually without breaking stuff. So it won't happen immediately. Deleting the account and recreating it is one option, but also comes with ts own internal headaches a little as there are business logic rules that break when you manually intervene on the backend, as well as forecasting problems.

But I have asked the guys to try to sort this out for you and either way we'll find a solution.

I also have this problem and it kinda irritates me but I will live with it. If you guys ever do find something that makes this process easy then I will request a change.
 
CW, I am getting high pings (550ms) in a Korean MMO - which I'm sure is normal considering the distance - but would you be able to see if anything can be changed to possibly improve the ping?

It's probably a long shot but worth a try I thought.

Post a path ping or mtr to the server so we can see the route it takes
 
What speeds do you guys get on the Crystalweb's news server outside of 00:00-06:00 time window? I can't seem to get speeds above 100KB/s on my home capped on a 20Mbps line.
 
Hey CW, wanted to know when we'd get more info on product/pricing changes as a result of Telkom's IPC (and other) price reductions.

As I understand it, uncapped users are fine with the prices and would rather have extra investment into the network.

But as a home capped user, the network is already more than good enough for my needs. I barely have shaping on the protocols I use, even in business hours (no torrents/news). So I would prefer an increase in the cap sizes and/or a price reduction.

Can we get a time frame for any possible announcements?
