Was under the impression that the Home Capped was essentially the same as WebAfrica's offering.

The CW account is a helluva lot more strict on NNTP, just ran some tests now during business hours out of curiosity. Both tests using the exact same file, same news servers (Usenetbucket + IS news server):

not really sarcastic, just wondering why a mod would throttle the thread
news related threads tend to be shaped when certain regions are involved ...

and warnings .... mmmm ....

but back to topic :D

seems something is very wrong with certain parts of this forum, as far as "leaders" go...

Back on topic, CW Streaming is amazing as always at the moment... Twitch issues seems to come and go, But it's never been right with any isp IMO

Yeah. NNTP during the day is pretty much useless on CW standard capped. Full speed from 11:59pm...

Same for torrents and services like put.io that can be used for streaming http "torrent" storage.

Sucks I guess, but for streaming video and gaming the CW account is pretty great.

Erm... This will be interesting.

I'm already talking with CW and going to provide some comparative stats when I get a moment. Will see if they can maybe optimise things a bit.

From my knowledge when I spoke to DJ about changing to this Package from my uncapped premium, It is supposed to be identical, Literally to the Tee as WA Home capped.

Same. Supposed to be the same product.

Think there may just be something wrong with my account.

Even plain HTTP is only reaching like 4Mbps. WA account peaks at 40Mbps and has a few drops and spikes but pretty stable.

Here's a test to see how long to download around 10MB from a server in Germany.

Downloading 50MB of an ISO from a server in Germany. Here is where there is a big difference, not sure why.

Noticed the same thing with a local test file using curl, but then my power went off so couldn't complete the test.

Hey, is support offline at the moment?

I have some packet loss I need to discuss with them.

CW can I suggest perhaps an IQ test as part of your application process? :p

Either that, or go back to the good old Sierra Online anti-piracy stuff:
"To process your application, please enter the second word of the fourth sentence of section G of the T&Cs"

:D
