Accessories are an absolute nightmare to source locally. Zasttra, Wantitall and Mobilefun are your best bets. Expect to pay and expect to wait months...

I want to pull the trigger on two of these (one for me, one for my SO).

Are they worth going through the hassle of importing?

I want to use the Oneplus site for HK, as that seems to be the cheapest option. That means I will have to use a service like AGS or Postbox-Courier. Since it will be around R12K, I want insurance against theft/damage/loss. AGS offers insurance, but I'm not sure with PBC. And neither AGS or PBC are replying to my emails (not inspiring any confidence).

Any advice?

Is that R12k for both? 6gb/64gb variant?

Phone is awesome!! And at that price a complete and utter no-brainer!! I usually go via Aliexpress/DHL. Painless but quite a bit more than getting it straight from Oneplus...

You could always get one from Lakhi10. He has stock I believe. If you ask nicely he might let you have one for around R9k, 8gb/128gb model...

Sorry, total price for x2 64GB models + shipping + VAT + customs = R13 700. For the 128 GB model, add R2k.

I've used PBC in the past, but the high value of this I feel I need insurance. I don't know if it is possible to get 3rd party insurance through one of the local insurance companies...

Thanks. It really compliments the phone. Not sure it's going to age well though. I'm expecting it to discolour horribly over time. In box me a price on one of these covers if you don't mind. I'm going to need a backup.

Serious question: Is the OnePlus 5T worth 2x the price of the Xiaomi Mi A1 I currently have? I know it has a flagship processor and dash charge but how is the camera - GSMArena weren't so positive about photo results...

I see the black 6Gb/64GB is on special again from Gearbest for $506 with Priority Line which will be R6k plus a bit of customs....

I've only had my Mi A1 for a week, but the R/$ is causing problems with my shopping finger.....

A1 great value for money. 5T is very good though. Camera possibly it's weak point but still better than the A1's by quite a margin.

Is R5900 to my door + customs a "never before" price or just OK? What is specials history (I have read through this thread and have not seen any better deals in the previous posts)
