OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

LOL, I also cancelled yesterday, you must be a VIP, I didnt get a call, all i got was a generic message with my ref #, so ye bye bye

Morning guys,

Some feedback :

After eventually getting around to sending my cancellation letter yesterday, Dane from OW phoned me up, endeavored to resolve my issues, and ended up issuing me 3 x new accounts.
Tested the accounts since yesterday....and all seems well again.

for now?

Only took Dane 3 tries beofre finding you an un-shared account. Service is improving at OW :p

I had 3 accounts with them, and they gave me 3 new ones to replace the 3 I had problems with :)

Sorry I misunderstood, but still doesn't it bother you that it took a new account to get your speeds back up? Which other ISP does this?

+1 its a never ending cycle.

It still beats me why does anyone even use these guys with their devious business practices and lies.

I could say the same thing about my two previous ISPs; Cybersmart & MWEB. I just wish I could get something better (4mb 'Gold' upcapped) from Openweb for a reasonable price.

Not exactly so, I have never seen MWEB or Cybersmart clients finding their accounts are shared.
Even with the whole MWEB throttle meltdown and all the abuse MWEBGuy and MWEB withstood during that time, MWEB is still here facing the music.
OW ran with their tail betweenwhen the heat was turned up on them. Signs of obvious guilt IMO.

Scumbags, in a moment of weakness I headed over to OpenSCUM as Afrihost is sucking at the moment.
Speedtests are flying so all must be okay? wrong.

These fscking criminals have unshaped speedtests and raped everything else on the net. Did a quick test using Mikrotik's bandwidth test to a few of our DC routers and throughput doesn't even come close to a meg, yet speedtest.net to a server hosted in the same DC is showing 8Mbps....

I sent my cancellation in a couple of days ago and haven't heard anything from them yet. I reckon after the next payment goes off amd I still didn't hear from them, I'm just going to block the stop order.

Ye! I am going to do the same, which ISP would myBB would recommend? The OW senior technician is trying to lie that "it the Telkom Lines problem" where as - it running full speed with my friends account on another ISP... lol :<

yep! i totally agree, they are talking to people with IT industry background. Blame Telkom ftw.... Please....
I have submit my cancellation of account with immediate effect. They keep on going - it the account problem.

Let see if I get sued for not paying the account, since I have stated in the email. Cancellation of account with immediate effect on the 17-19 November.
 
Update: now on Web Africa uncapped, same tests which either timed out on OpenWeb or were shaped to death are now running at full speed. Funny how my account which is less then 24hours old is shaped already, a full 16GB later...

They are more then welcome to come after me as well. I have offered to pay the piss small amount of data that their network has allowed me to consume but won't be paying a cent more.
