Think I will be stealing some off your list

Just not the ones with bottle-necks! I hate those!

What is the purpose of a park run? I am assuming it is for some social activity sort of thing and not so much running. I guess i answered my own question already. Much like what is the purpose of running road races if you could be running in the mountains instead. Social status > Running

lol not really, maybe with your smaller social circle if they join, but imo more for motivation of having "competitors" and being timed officially

If you can socialise while doing 5k's in 17 minutes you're not missing anything :whistling:

:D Shongweni is probably the worst for a bottleneck, if you don't start near the front it goes from open field to single track and you end up walking for 200m. And you hit the walkers on the second lap :X3: which can be annoying - otherwise a nice run.

Shongweni was off the list when I heard about the bit that's on the edge of a mountain

PB is North Beach (26:17) but eish that run is hectic on your knees. Worse than a road run.

I think that might be Botha's hill - apart from the backlog Shongweni is a very pleasent run (it does a circuit around the Polo fields at Shongweni polo club).

Then why parkrun if it is for the run? Instead of you know... driving out to your local trail.
Edit: Oh I overlooked the reasoning of having someone else officially time you. Interesting. I don't get it but if you active then awesome

It's not only the timing. Seeing the other runners is really motivating. I admire the big guys/gals out there making the effort. And when an old oom/tannie passes you by like you standing still it's even better

Ah thanks. That explains the (hectic) in your other post. Will give Shongweni a shot sometime

Last Saturday it was first my wife, then another lady, then myself, but on the results later on the net, I was before the wife, just for interest sake. I actually just do it for her

What order did you pick up the token? If you took a token before your wife you will be first

How long does it usually take to get your milestone tees from the UK? I'm literally on my 65th run and waiting for my 50th tee.

Mine arrived within 2 weeks. SO's never arrived. But I chose the express delivery option which was a few bob more.
