I currently have great speeds but crappy pings while gaming
 
Hate to say this, but it really feels like Crystalweb just doesn't have enough bandwidth to go around. Especially since I get full line speed always to stuff like local steam downloads or speedtest.net, etc. It's hard to swallow it being telkom problems when it's obviously only international bandwidth that is affected..

Same here trying to watch the Dreamhack 2014 finals a 16tick stream with low quality audio getting massive lag and stutter.

Locally the pings go well into the 160ms again.

I have sent them proof in youtube including the mtr tests but it has not improved at all. This is the longest I had a ping related issue with any isp ever.

How can I test this? Is there a public link?
I don't usually stream, other than sport.

Tried Hulu for the first time today and it is running good for me.

If you have cs go you could have watched it ingame, but the finals are over and I had to watch it with afrihost.

It is not a stream in the traditional sense it only sends game data like a spectator thus it is very low bandwith usage. BUt it still lagged to the point I could not watch it on crystalweb...

Twitch is LQ all the way on CW and pings are this morning in the higher 100's on local games.


EDIT: do I also have to add the absurdness of CW charging me for full 4 meg line speed if I got a 2meg account.

International is slow as molasses for me.
XBMC streams buffering like mad.
Speedofme, testmynet both show 0.5mb/s :(
I hope the problem gets sorted soon, I left Ti becoz of similar issues.

EDIT: Hulu is working on high without any buffering :D
At least now I catch up on Gotham etc
 
My ADSL line was deaded for about 15 minutes. While I was on hold with Telkom it came back to life.
 
Downloading Linux Iso via http:// at 1.7Mb on my 20Mb account.
 
So I have canceled today and I am happy I did. I do hope CW sort their **** out... I really do and I might even return someday but as it stands on 30 - 11 -2014 it is just not even up to standard of the cheapest openweb accounts which is a scary thought.

I am not whining for the fanboys here, I am saying this is bad. At the hight of afrihosts problems I had similar issues than I had here but that lasted 3 days it has been an issue on CW for over a month and a half. This would be fine if they actually took the plunge and provided is or other accounts to customers as backup. I paid almost R500 just this month on other accounts due to crystalwebs issues... more than I paid for their account in the first place.
 
Still have lots of packet loss in online games (both elder scrolls online and swtor)and lots of buffering on twitch. Giving you guys another month if you can't get this sorted it will be time to move.

Same, getting lots of lag and lag spikes in elder scrolls online and Rift. Unplayable.
 
Seems the shaping has kicked in again already...getting less than 2m speeds on 10m account. When is this going to stop and we actually get what we pay for?
