Very interesting. Thanks for the reply. Does this affect capped accounts too or does IS give you x amount of unshaped data to resel as you wish or bandwidth like a pipe type system where you guys decide how unshaped or shaped you want it to be?

A better way of thinking about it is like making a car which has a lot of components. Volkswagen group (which can be thought of as Telkom in this story) have part manufactures and assembly plants and a couple of marquees and brands. Volkswagen also source parts from other manufactures and sell parts.

Crystalweb is in the vain of being a car company using VW parts (and for DSL in SA that's inevitable) Toyota assembly and some parts and Crystal Web designs.

Capped accounts complicate things a little (as a scale contingency matter we don't want to much capped account demand in the pipe - if you look at the track record in SA having unshaped capped accounts in a imperfectly scaled pipe leads to horrible contention issues) but the latter part is very much he situation - we manage the pipe to give customers the best experience -- it is why we are applying serious thoughts to the opportunity Telkom is putting forward -> and why a race to the bottom is unnecessary
 
So first impressions of Crystal Web is terrible.

Account was supposed to be activated at midnight tonight, even asked them today if there could be any issues with the account and was told that everything should be in order. Either it was just a palm off or they didn't actually investigate it, but the account details I got does not work (up until current time of posting).

Maybe I made a mistake believing the hype and chosing them over Web Africa.

Have you queried it with them via online chat?
 
was it indicated that the account would be live at midnight or just as of the 1st May?

Need to check with the support guys and will investigate because the activations on the 1st of the month take place after midnight and the account should be active before 2am

Exactly the same issue. Forum rep and online chat both confirmed that my account would be activated. Payed via snapscan.

"(07:08:42 PM) Private Support: Yes definitely your account will be ready by midnight tonight as it is set to go active on the 1st of May"

Activation Date: 2015-05-01

If it is going to be "before 2am" then it should be noted in the sign up mail. I couldn't find anything of the sort in the FAQ or Terms and Conditions. I've never had to wait for any ISP accounts in the past, regardless of the effective from date.

Well considering how many accounts IS radius servers have to process for activation or deactivation/upgrade/downgrade/password change etc etc.

iirc, My account was activated just after 1am on the first.
 
Also still waiting but not a train smash. Using the free account until my account is live. I also want to ask, where can I view my cap usage?

Still no connection, according to support accounts are randomly activated to not overload the server. So it is wait until morning and hope for the best. Thus far not too impressed.
 
I have switched my CW account to a different CW account and my new details have worked from 12.01am.
So nothing wrong on my end.

My business premium account activated last night just after midnight without any problems :D

I paid yesterday morning by EFT and it emailed them the proof of payment.

I loved the trial as I tested the hell out of the connection with multiple HD and other varied video streams all active at the same time..... worked like a charm ! :love:

I know there was an issue with the password creation on one or two accounts on our end last night checking the logs. Can you PM me if you still have an issue and I'll sort it out for you...

We had a massive number of accounts set for activation today. I had guys working until 2am last night on this and they were available by chat if there were any issues. I do see that some passwords didn't seem to create correctly, and I can resolve this on my end manually if you still have an issue. Just let me know...
