Had to dial afrihost again this morning. This is getting ****ing old to be honest.
 
Yep, will unfortunately not be signing up with CW this month anymore. Still hope it comes right though and when it does, I'll be joining up ;)
 
Are any of you guys using google dns? I changed mine to the default for CW and my speeds went up quite a bit. Will report here if it goes bad again but at the moment I am getting about 800kb/s on nntp.

Seems it was just some placebo effect...it's back to being slow again.

Anyone else experiencing really slow downloads of updates for xbl? 105mb file took over 30 mins on a 4meg line

Twitch streaming nicely for the last 3 days. Anything changed on CW's side?

Not for me. Twitch unplayable on CW buffers every 2 mins, no buffering on mweb. Games packet losses both swtor and eso, doesn't happen on the mweb backup account.
 
Seems CW has just vanished. I think even a comment like "Hey there is stuff happening, we cant tell you about it just yet. We should be be able to provide a full update by <insert date>". Just to know you guys are still there - so to speak.
 
Seems I can't apply for fibre because my line is with CW :(
The 2 months, double charges and countless emails/calls all in vein now that I have to wait for another month before I can apply.

4Mbps, Eastern Cape

Streaming Hulu Plus is not running great for me since the last 30 minutes or so.
Buffering every 60 - 90 seconds.
Average incoming data rate is about 600kbps, bursting to 1760kbps.
 
Please Shaun and Paul, can we get an update?

I contacted support, spoke with the General and there is no ETA on a fix.
He said that an email will be sent out, didn't say when, with an update.

I think that's maybe the 5th time I've heard that.
Sorry to say, this is why I left them and why I will most likely also cancel my line with them.
 
I feel the need to add my 2c.

Regarding streaming, Netflix is 100% fine on my end so no complaints there. Gaming, well I played around with different accounts while keeping the same DNS settings yesterday and CW was consistently slower by about 10ms.
Packet loss is still a major issue, losing 99% of packets on certain hops, and not just to bbc.co.uk.

The good news is even with the packet loss my browsing seems fine and Saturday and Sunday I decided to finally catch up on all my series that I have missed out on and my downloads (torrent) consistently ran at line speed or just under.

So luckily for me my account seems to be functioning at an acceptable level for me even though I do know it is falling short in areas.

Currently I switch over to Afrihost when gaming on Xbox Live but other than that I'm fairly satisfied.

As a final note I am a customer from the Cape, Really interested to know where the people experiencing the worst of these issues are situated...
 
Connection dropping... ADSL sync is stable, but PPPoE session dropping, then auth failure, then no response from peer etc
