Anyone here using Ubuntu? Which repository do you use? They all seem to be a little slow when downloading updates on CW.

HTTP (and perhaps other protocols) downloads are poked, plain and simple. Multithreading them seems to work but for the likes of PSN and various other apps (like the D3 updater above) where you cannot force multithreaded downloads we're stuck with terrible performance.

@rakabos3

Anyone else having latency issues to battle.net Diablo3 servers?

I started off with CW ISP ended with backup account WebAfrica.

We played together for some time, then the question was ask lagging. I was already over on to WebAfrica.

Even speed test gave poor performance.

That's worrying. I've been trying to complete an update download for over an hour now. I wonder if that's also the cause of my weird image-loading slowness. Weird problems for an ISP to have - HTTP downloads are usually the most optimised protocol of any traffic shaping solution.

@Crystal Web

Any comment on the latency to battle.net D3 servers plz?

I'm awaiting feedback from the guys about this and am following up again today. As most will attest, it's not normal to see latency issues on the network so we're trying to ascertain what changes may have caused this at the moment, and looking to get it resolved asap.

NNTP is currently running at full line speed! Whatever you did CW, don't change it! :)

It's Thursday and I'm getting ampt anticipating the big symmetrical network reveal :D

I dont think I can handle the slow HTTP downloads for much longer, I'm losing years waiting for them to complete :p It's great that multi-threading my download gets the speed up but not all downloads can be multi-threaded :(

Hi guys,

There seems to be an intermittent authentication issue at the moment. Please do not reboot your modem or switch connections for the time being until I can get confirmation out that it has been resolved.

This is a precautionary notice only, as it doesn't appear to be affecting all customers (we only have two reports so far of it) but rather safe than sorry for now.

I will update as soon as I can.

CW you might see a usage spike on my account. Due to hard drive dying.

Bugger that. More changes please. I'm getting a grand 10% line speed :(

That's not correct - please contact support quickly so we can check as you should be seeing a substantial improvement. Ordinarily I'd suggest a quick reboot to ensure the changes have filtered down to you correctly but there seems to be an isolated authentication issue, and I don't want to risk your account not connecting up again for now.

If you're using our server I'd suggest 443 SSL for now to replicate our test line which has full line speed on nntp.

Using a paid SSL easynews server with yours as backup.

I put my issues with PSN, HTTP and NNTP through to support (with screenshots) on Tuesday.

There were changes today which is why I suggested to contact support.

Can you try ours as primary?
