On my invoice this morning, I got given Standard Bank EFT Details. Upgraded my account this afternoon and received an email with FNB EFT Details; which is the preferred option? Any?

Either. But I have become a far bigger fan of FNB over the last few months. We have both options available, and the new cellular payment option. :)

Is something up with a geo-location server somewhere? Accuweather shows I'm in Tianzhu regional office China :wtf:

We don't control geo-location servers. Companies like MaxMind do, and they often get it wrong.

Hiya all,

I'm with AH at the moment.

I'm trialing out CW with the 1GB test account and am getting some pretty strange results.
Local is peachy and pretty consistent at 9.12mbps to 9.2mbps

International is a mess and all over the place. 2.58mbps; 3.6mbps

Was hoping CW was the silver bullet to my AH woes.
Not sure what's going on.
Any ideas?

Rgds,
SD

Test real world performance. Really. Test a download from an international source and let me know how it goes.

Speedtests are not a priority on the network - we reserve capacity for actual stuff instead.

If you still have the same issues, pop it through to support though.

Also in the South. Northern Suburbs.

YouTube and Twitch running at 100%.

Kicked off a download for 5min from an EU server and it too ran at full line speed.

And my speed tests are also up and down.

Zero problems on CW when using the internet however. Happiness is not having to suffer with AH anymore.

Will do a few real-world tests however as with all real world tests they are very subjective.
What would you recommend as a general diagnostic?

Your experience is a diagnostic. We never discount it.

Thing is, we know there are no network issues at the moment, so our diagnostic procedure right now is looking for other variables to be honest.

Hmmm... very interesting approach. So let's put it through it's paces :).
- Youtube - streams without issue. 1080p reports an average of 2.3mbps; 76 dropped frames in a 4min clip. Can't complain given that it played backed ok. However how significant is the average speed and dropped frames? Line speed is 10mbps.
- DSTV Explora downloads from Catch-up plus - dismal :( 150kbps to 170kbps. Certainly need an explanation for this one.

Oh, everyone is complaining about Catch Up download speeds, from all ISPs. We're not shaping it at all - we checked on our end.

Neat! I'll buy into that. Just means I drive Multichoice :).
Thanks for the really quick responses! Will continue checking out the test account for a few more days.

Sure, no problem.

If Catch Up is the only issue, we know where the issue lies. If it's more widespread than that, then our support staff should be able to assist. They're not your typical untrained monkeys. :D

Hahahaha... yah I think I get the drift ;)

I still maintain that we should invest in an untrained monkey to test gaming performance
