Are you satisfied with your Crystal Web account?

I have been a Crystalweb customer since October last year.
There have been a few hiccups with them, but I can say that the support I continuously receive from them is why I am still their customer.
I have had Shaun Kaplan assisting with my issues for around a month now. The problems were caused by a culprit at home who thought he could download the internet, 24x7. So the easy way out from Crystalweb, would have been to just kill my account. Instead Shaun spent some time with me to assist in getting the usage under control.

WARNING ABOUT CRYSTAL WEB

I just made the mistake of signing up and paying for a home capped account with 90GB day time traffic. Hours after discovering the false advertising, they refuse to refund me.

With my 20MB VDSL line, they throttle me to 200KB/s on a HTTP download from Grabitjeeves.com (formerly downstorm).

Even afrihost and mweb home capped accounts allow full line speed of 2000KB/s.

I discovered this within hours of signup - they admit they do this and they wont even refund me.

They keep having some excuse about why they can throttle HTTP downloads while advertising these keywords on their brochure:
- Ideal for big downloaders
- Capped data is as fast as your connection
- Superior network access

Their excuse is that this HTTP download is 'bypassing' their throttling system. It's a freaking HTTP download - its not bypassing anything! How is this HTTP download ANY different? It aint'... its data i paid for....

What grabitjeeves does on their own side before an HTTP download becomes available has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ISP. Its a HTTP DOWNLOAD?!@?!? I paid for 90GB day time traffic, and i get a tenth of my line speed.

OMG, the least they can do is refund.

So in summary, after you spend over R700 excluding telephone line rental, you are told your HTTP download should be scheduled for midnight downloading

:wtf: sometimes I feel my blood boil due to the stupidity of people who cannot be bothered to read the previous 7566 posts on a thread.

Please note this post refers to all previous posts (esp. #7565) where people have complained about unmet expectations after not having completed the due diligence required for the selection of a new ISP or account type.

On a lighter note, I just changed from my 100GB Capped Business Premium account to their 7mb uncapped home premium account and I am as happy as a piggy in the brown stuff.... :D

On a Home Capped account - 60gig plus graveyard data.
10Meg line that gets 250-300KB the rest of the time.
So please note that if you are a "Linespeed User" this account is only useable for a 1/4 of the day.....

:cry: I just don't get it anymore. Can I nominate myself for the task of slapping people who are unable to read? Can current *happy users* buy out future memberships and go underground or would that be selfish?

Capped is Capped, why not slap your willy silly , I fear this will become an OpenWeb saga.
this crap of daytime/after hours use will only be applicable to the people with knowledge.

Like I said I want 300Gig all access, at capped rates. this daytime and nighttime usage is not for the average user.
so You with your flapping Silly mindset needs a to think further!
