OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Think I initially signed up with them from my 384k line speed days. Been smooth sailing since then. Excellent line speeds and great support 24/7 whenever it was required.

You must have low expectations... Or perhaps they flag your emails as a MyBroadband supporter? :p

Ever spoken to them on the phone?
 
I sincerely hope it continues for you....Many of us have not been that lucky.

This is why I post here. I believe in give credit where credit is due. At least I'll be the ray of light among this thread.

Not sure eh. I've never really had a need to phone them. My emails get responded to in a timely fashion so no need to follow up with an angry call. But I'm sure I've spoken with them before.

I'm sure you spoke to a receptionist who promised a call back which never happened. :p

My opinion is formed by hundreds/thousands of posts here, Hello Peter complaints, etc.

Do you use your OW account between 08h00 and 17h00 weekdays?

Yes, though very seldom cos I work during that time. When I'm off then yes.
I also must note I do not download torrents and such, so I can't say if I would be classed as a heavy user/downloader but I do stream a lot of 720p video/movies.

I must also note that I have never had one of their "entry level" basic accounts.
 
I have had an account from them that was awesome after hours however the latest account was usless 24/7

Yeah, most of their accounts are after hours accounts.

We find that those with positive feedback only use their internet after hours, hence not able to comprehend what it's like during hours. That or they have some special older account that's kept on working well. Or because they've moaned so much or been moved around so much that they've finally been given a decent account.

You have no limitations on how fast you can go.* The accounts will run at the speed of light or rather, at the speed of your ADSL line (up to a maximum of 10Mbps

I've honestly tried to support this company, had way too many downs with them with minimal ups so it's good bye.
I know it's long overdue, but I always do my best to support companies and try see results - but with OpenWeb - results are great for a 'while' but then it just always goes back to the same old same old.

Openweb Capped Unshaped accounts with uncapped late data is pretty damn good. 10 x better than what Telkom is giving me now.

Being basically IS capped accounts like Webafrica I would highly recommend these accounts actually. Full p2p speed no matter time or day it just works like it should.

That said I won't touch their uncapped accounts because that is just so badly shaped and shared it's impossible to use.
 
Anyone on these new home uncapped premium accounts? Shaping supposedly only starts after 220gb on 4 meg line. Trying to decide between this and paying a bit extra for crystalweb 10meg uncapped.
