Cannot connect using my WCDMA settings in Rondebosch. Only GSM works.

I see that at night on my iPad I can forget to connect to the net, twitter, ForumRunner, TapaTalk and whatever application that uses 3G. It starts fro 19:00 till about 01:00. I am sick and tired of this now. And Vodacom is fast to state on twiter that they will try and help, but heck people... Do you know how crap it is to use a Nokia 5800 to surf the web and twitter?

Now VODACOM... What is wrong with your iPhone APN? Get it together or stop screwing around, man up and admit that there is a problem, and you just don't care. But this is starting at a good time... Two weeks before my upgrade date!

anyone els having trouble in durbanville/kenridge - vodascam

hi there,

for the past couple of days I.m having ENDLESS trouble with vodacom, drop calls, disconnect every (random) minute and SLOW through put in browsing (not even mentioning that most of my pages just never stops loading and gets returned incomplete or just blank) --- and customer care seems to be on holiday (Again)

just want to know if anyone els is having the same trouble (oh yes, and I have 6 phones and 3 vodafone modems, it happens on all of them),,, really getting gatvol at vodacoms poor service...

thanks in advance ...

Same here, but it seems to be working for now, but will see how long it will last... Does not always last with telecoms.
And the call centre is dead. Had to stop a phone tonight... Took 7 minutes to get a reply on the line, and that horrible song they play while you wait... What is the idea with that!

After being referred from here from another thread:

Greenstone Hill, Edenvale
E220 with latest firmware on XP SP3 and Win7 SP1
VMB (same issue with MDMA)
When I last contacted the help centre a few months ago they insisted that I need other people in my area who have the same issue to log a complaint and therefore get a reference number - the most singularly fascinating lie I have ever heard.

When I try the Vodacom speed test:

3G & BIS speeds after 19:00

Don't know if this is a common problem, but the speed of BIS and 3G on vodacom network has become nearly non existent after 19:00 the past two weeks.

During the day, I get great speeds, Blackberry Apps, downloads via 3g modem all work great, then comes the dreaded 19:00. It's not getting any better either, progressively becoming worse the last two 2-3 weeks.

* 3G becomes to slow it takes +-5 minutes for http://www.speedtest.net/ page to open, and I can't even get it to check the speed so slow it is.
* BIS - BBM & WhatsApp - Messages takes up to 15 minutes to get delivered.
* BIS - The browser on blackberry device doesn't even want to load the google search page. Facebook is totally useless during this time.

All of this only happens after 19:00, during the day all devices, connections etc... work 100%.

my Blackberry network showing EDGE all day at my work (Upper La Lucia Office Park) - Armstrong ave. It been like this for past few week. very frustate. even i've email the complaint and nothing sorted out so far :(

Good old Richmond now gets 0.32mbps down and 0.12mbps with a ping of 100ms? using a Huawei E173.... Yet my 8ta sim gets 5mbps down and 3mbps up with a ping of 87ms to the neology speedtest server.... Vodacom seem to have lost the plot..... thank goodness my 3G contract is almost due to be canceled!

I live in Centurion and I am really getting sick and tired of Vodacom and its internet service. Over the past few weeks my Vodafone K3805-Z modem has been finding it difficult to connect to the internet. I don't know if it's the tower (which is about 250m away) or if it's my modem. I use a laptop and it's pretty fast so it can't be that my laptop is the problem. Sometimes when I try to connect to the internet, the program says "HSUDPA" but yet the internet is so slow that it might as well say "EDGE". The modem almost always says "EDGE" and I do not know how to get a fast connection, like HSUDPA. I use pre-paid. This is ridiculous!!!

I always used to say im more than happy to pay vodacom's premium prices for the excellent services( well my parents pay it). But my internet from them in the day is so terrible, i can't even load simple google web pages. Even my cellphone had a few calls that would not come through(only on the 3rd time did it come through), never mind being dropped? Only time i can actually browse the web is after 12am.

Is anybody else currently experiencing connectivity issues, unable to stay connected from this morning. On hold for the call centre for longer than 30mins now. Struggling with cell phone signal as well.

For the last like 3 weeks or so (at one point Vodacom acknowledged their problem and said it affected BIS,iPhone and SIM swap users, later said it was magically resolved but nothing happened) the stellenbosch area has been unable to get ANY kind of usable BIS. all vodacom Blackberries are affected...MTN users dont even know what we're frustrated about. Call centre constantly denies anythings wrong, WELL IM PHONING TO TELL YOU SOMETHINGS WRONG!

Roughly between the hours of 08:00 and 19:00, BBM and general BIS service completely dies. EDGE is there, full bars, but the upload/download arrow is dead. it will flash about 3 times for upload...and nothing. As if its TRYING to ping the tower or w/e but it just dead...

And in Somerset West no problem at all.

Sigh, luckily my prepaid expires on the 9th. I dont care about throttling, MTN's more stable network is looking pretty damn good, even with a R120 swap fee.

Town: Steynsrus

Problem: 3G has been down the whole day so far, no signal at all.

edit: Just went online at 00:00

My throughput has been very up and down today (more than usual). I experience problems on both my 3G modem and Smartphone, on different accounts. The only similarities is location (Rosebank, Johannesburg) and the provider (Vodacom)

My speed vary from 941k to 3.2M in the span on 10 mins. Sometimes I cannot even browse (or post on this forum).

I have complained about this before, but no change. Cant wait for this contract to expire.

Anyone else in the Sunninghill area having data connectivity issues?

Since Tuesday I have no 3G or HSDPA at all. I logged a complaint & a few hours later data contacted me & said they will look into it. I get an sms this morning saying it has been resolved but now its worse than ever. I had to call them back & log it again cos their in house system does not allow you to open a call again that has been closed already. Now the process starts again.

Meh!

Thats exactly my issue. I have always gotten full 4 bars of HSUPA at my desk & now its almost non existent. They tell me they have not received any other complaints from other people. I doubt this VERY much. Sunninghill is FULL of business parks, they need to sort this out & now too.
