*READ FIRST* Vodacom Problems: Slow Throughput, Trying to Connect, DNS, High Latency

the speed is not guarenteed... and whats likely to happen, that service request is gna sit at vodacom's network dept and u gna wait 2-3 weeks for a sms that says "Dear valued custromer, we are attending to your fault. Thank you for your patience" and the next time u call 155, the service request will be closed... enjoy preventing that vein from bursting in ur head...
 
Completely correct - these guys work on big picture public relations - market their new high speed networks - rake in the money & then use their call centers as smoke screens when it comes to technical issues

Certain Customers in Harrismith, Ladysmith, Howick, Vryheid and Pietermaritzburg areas cannot make and receive calls (voice and data affected) due Base Stations/Sites that have failed because of adverse weather conditions.
 
I have no faith in Vodacom anymore. Never have signal

For quite some time I have been annoyed with vodacom, but now its just bad.

I work just about in Central Randburg, in Joburg. I hardly have any reception. Phone reports I have 4 bars, but when somebody phones me or I phone them, I need to stand next to a window or outside for them to hear me. Almost daily my phone reports "Sim card registration failed". I then have to turn my phone off and back on again. Strangely enough it only happens here at work. 3G is pretty useless. Constant connect and disconnect. I am not the only person in the building with this issue.

Yesterday I was waiting for an important call, eventually I check my phone, and it says 'Sim card registration failed'. I switch the phone off, and back on again, and it registers. Then later, just before I went phone, My phone goes crazy. I got a sms telling me I have 2 new voice messages. the one message was that important phone call I was waiting for.

More or less the same thing at home. No Cell reception. Have to stand outside in the cold at night to get any type of phone reception. Sometime I need to stand on the roof.

So the two places I am at the most, I have no reception. Vodacom can be glad I just upgraded, else I would have ported to cell c.

Have a similar situation. My signal at work is poor and the signal I have at home is inconsitent, can range from decent to non existent. Currently testing the other networks and have better signal on most of them. Waiting for my 4 months to be up and then it is cheers to Vodacom.
 
Vodacom 3g problems in Stellenbosch

Hi just want to know if Vodacom is experiencing problem on their network again as Im having issues with my 3g connection?
It is going up and down every 2-3 minutes.
Im in stellenbosch at the moment.
 
The 'sim card registration failed' also happen to me with a poor CellC signal, especially when I go down to the basement. Irritates me.

But hey, that's what I get for going into basements. Totally out of CellC's control :)

I have checked with the looking after Western cape and they have nothing reported. Send me your addres details should this continue

I've also had patchy reception but not sure if it is just a bad day or something significant.
 
Vodacom 3G failure - Gateway / Umhlanga area

During the past 2 hours or so I have only had a GSM connection - it follows on the back of several outages or network degredation on Vodacoms side and I feel this is no longer acceptable.

Vodacom customer service is unaware of the problem. Vodacom network division claims many towers are experiencing problems as a result of the weather. It begs the question if it is weather related how come other cell providers don't have the same constant connectivity issues?

I am so tired of logging calls to Vodacom who takes in excess of 24 hours to reply with a standard document detailing my number, area, etc, etc... can you not look it up? What makes it worse is that the electronic answering service requests your number when you call in - so why ask for it again and not just use the one already provided...?
 
Vodacom 3G at a snails pace

Anybody else also crawling... VC 3g very slow last to days or is it just me... Seems like gprs speeds...???????

Im in Middelburg MP, Dennesig residential area. Prepaid sim, just got it yesterday, will pm my number so you can make sure its provisioned for 3g.
 
More slow speeds here in Port Elizabeth, Summerstrand area and Mount Road, North End at work. Once the connection dies on 3G I switch to GPRS. Once that dies, I switch back to 3G. The back-and-forth doesn't bother me most of the time as I have a Cell C speedstick, but I also get the same problem occasionally in Jeffreys Bay, C-Place area.
