Vox Fibre Feedback

Mine did as well at that time, you on Frogfoot?
Vumatel.

They tweeted this right after it came back:

"Customers connecting via Vumatel Fibre may experience connectivity problems. Kindly note that the upstream provider is attending, and we thank you for your patience"

The reason I asked is that I was exposed to another network, complete discovery.

Anyone on Vox having issues with international traffic? Im experiencing horrible call quality on Teams and Skype.

I ran a skype network assessment tool and it came back with failures on RTT latency, Packet loss rate and Jitter :/

Speedtests are running fine for local, but I get a 250ms ping on international traffic (not sure whether thats bad or not).

What a pity VOX don't have a rep on this forum like Afrihost and Cool Ideas - it would go a long way to improve their public image, show interest and commitment to their subscribers.

We have been with Vox/Frogfoot for nearly three years with only minor glitches in the beginning but now on a 50 meg line its been 100% for streaming / surfing :)

Pretty sure my Vumatel fibre has been down more in 3 months than my DSL was in 10 years.

It's offline again now.

Week 1 there was a fault and they kept saying they're coming, people have been assigned, they came at 16:50.

Month 1 it was offline for a couple of hours the one day and now month 2 it has been offline for almost an hour again.

I'm so glad I chose Vox, I want two ports forwarded which I can't do myself because they lock you out of the router and the only live chat support channel that currently works is sales.

I use my own router and it works very well, I can then have my own settings

I can use my own router and be done with it but the main point was actually how the online chat support doesn't seem to exist anymore, every department you choose just says disconnected but if you choose sales it immediately connects with someone already waiting.

Previously I would just choose fibre support, ask to please forward this and that port to this IP and it would be done, 2 minutes, now I have to call them out of pocket or email them and wait several hours for a reply.

I have also noticed this with a few other companies since the lockdown and ppl were working from home. It is really frustrating and I am sorry that you were experiencing difficulties.

Hearing many Vox users having issues connecting to zoom.com or getting the app to work. Anyone else affected? Users reporting it to me are from Durban
