I apologise for my being AWOL the last week or so. It has been a very busy time trying to get things all sorted and running perfectly for everyone, and it has resulted in some considerable travel. In future we will leave a second rep in charge of managing the forum, which on this occasion I did, but it seems he was a little intimidated and scared to post anything.
Network upgrades were delayed, and were completely out of our control. The process began a few weeks back, and one of the major overhauls took place last night. We are seeing better performance, but we still need final confirmation from upstream of the changes and performance increases. It has become increasingly difficult to disclose specifics as we too are bound by confidentiality in this respect, which is a commercial tenet we take seriously.
However a large portion of our time in management this last week has been spent securing performance increases across the board, irrespective of the upstream changes. While I know this sounds like a vague statement to make, more details are to follow with a direct mail to customers in the coming days. We will release more information about this as soon as we can, but ultimately the goal is to remove the variable of upstream changes resulting in degraded performance for extended periods. Our proposed changes will be the basis for a pretty revolutionary change in the market and how we provision internet access to customers. As many will attest to, when performance issues drag on for periods deemed unacceptable by us (and our customers) we take drastic and often very expensive steps to resolve them, and this time is no different. However performance across the board should be drastically improving now as we receive confirmation of the various network upgrades from upstream.
