Connection wasn't so lekker. And it wasn't just Supersport. I was busy on my phone and everything just stopped. Wasn't close to the router so not sure if i actually disconnected.

this^^

Randomly everything just stops, and logged in remotely so I can't troubleshoot more than just asking the fam to look at logs they don't understand. Will do a cycle, might be due to me changing my DSL password.

OK I'm seeing some rather crazy things happen on the DSL network here.

It's a rather odd one. Looks like in JHB numerous lines are suddenly hitting max throughput all at the same time. Ours just did so on the test lines as well, and nothing else on the network works at the stage.

:/

Noticed a bit of a slow down tonight. Bit of buffering on NTV mx and YouTube.

none of my clients connected are pushing that bandwidth!

EDIT: pfsense logs show that the most being pushed is from my chromecast, with Netflix at 7Mbs
Should I try with another modem?

It's not the clients on your internal network pushing that at all. It's something else on the DSL network entirely.

Just tested, and confirmed on both lines.

Both are having some struggles at exactly the same times, with the same throughput issues, where up and down are maxed with what appears to be random TCP data.

No, let me find out what is going on first.

Seems to be exchange based for now at random exchanges in the JHB area.

There's something strange. In the neighbourhood.

We're gonna call Telkom.

Something is up.

Thanks DJ

Weird my DSL connection just dropped for a few moments and reconnected its self.

Whatever it was, it seems to have fixed itself on the DSL side of things on our test lines here.

EDIT: nope, spoke too soon.

It climbs up to 720p and then drops down to 240p. Mostly sits on 384p at the moment though. Will do a proper power cycle tomorrow and if it persist I'll contact support. Thanks

Well now can't connect to Hulu /Netflix at all. No idea what what is up.

IP updated?

We've been seeing some weird stuff on the DSL side which may be causing disconnects and reconnects, which may force a new IP.

On our side the network is fine. But there seems to be something odd happening in JHB right now. Cannot pin-point it just yet, as it's rather random. Netflix however is connecting, as is Hulu, and streaming fine at the moment. But randomly we see it drop entirely, but it's the entire connection, while accounts remain authenticated and DSL remains up.

I have a suspicion I know what the issue is but need to talk to Telkom first about it before we can be sure, and I can update the network notice as well.

I tried but couldn't get Unotelly to open at all for about 30 minutes (not even the app either) but managed now finally. Turning in for the night in any case. Will check again tomorrow.
